The extremist, antisemitic LaRouche PAC claimed responsibility for the “troll” at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) town hall on Thursday, who said we must “eat the babies” in order to save the planet from climate change.
The bizarre moment unfolded at Ocasio-Cortez’s town hall at the Queens Public Library on Thursday after a woman stood up and proclaimed that we must “eat the babies” to save the planet from climate change, leaving the New York lawmaker dumbfounded.
“A Swedish professor [said] we can eat dead people, but that’s not fast enough. So I think your next campaign slogan has to be this: ‘We got to start eating babies! We don’t have enough time! There is too much CO2,” the woman said.

This is well worth watching if you haven’t seen the video-clip. AOC was far from “dumbfounded”, she didn’t seem to have any particular reaction to what the woman was saying beyond just wanting her to maybe calm down a little bit.
This was a masterpiece of political trolling, it revealed quite a lot about what the “Green New Deal” is really about.
LaRouche fanatics used to hustle money at airports right next to the moonies and hare krishna beggars.

It’s like the LaRouche crazies out crazied the commiecrat crazy leaving Cortez wondering why she or her handlers didn’t think of that first.
Then the light comes on (hours later) and she realizes she’s been punked.
AOC said “we still have time”—presumably eating babies might be an option after that.
They can’t wrap their Lilliputian minds around it!
I thought the woman spoke with a faint Hispanic accent, but on second thought I guess it was French.
This has been one of the doom and gloom predictions of the left for ages.

It was a great piece of political theater shining a light on the truly dangerous fanatics of our times.
They ruined it by taking credit.
Let people think it was real.
De Blasio was originally a LaRouche follower. They’re so extreme that they’ve hit the extremist circle in the middle, so they can be either extreme right or extreme left.
I have no idea why they decided to do this or what their objective was. The only telling point is that the ditz - aka, Occasional Cortex - didn’t try to respond or didn’t even seem to care to do so.

Are the LaRouche followers pro-life? Their name sounds French and thus Catholic?
Except to correct the "we only have a few months left" claim. Not once did she oppose the "eating babies" part (she was probably mulling over if we should eat all babies or just white ones).
Larouche is dead but his band of kooks survives. They really defy being described by the usual political categories. I first ran into them 40+ years ago in college. One of their members, a scroungy hippie guy, was out in front of the student union one day with a bullhorn denouncing a political science professor as not being “a real communist.” I took his class. He was a real communist. The next year at the beginning of the fall semester when student organizations had information tables set up in the student union, the Larouchies had two clean-cut guys in neckties and on their table were pictures of Jefferson and Paine. I was a member of a conservative student group and they made contact with us. One of the guys met with them in a house where a whole bunch of them lived together. He described te atmosphere as being cult-like.
Various reports from different media sources say the LaRouche-ites claimed credit for the incident.
She should get a Oscar!
