President Trump did something Tuesday night that he has rarely done since taking office: He used the presidential bully pulpit to reach beyond his hardcore base of supporters to make his case to the American people as a whole.
Speaking from the Oval Office for the first time during his presidency, Trump embraced our country's tradition as a nation of immigrants, declaring "America proudly welcomes millions of lawful immigrants who enrich our society and contribute to our nation." He then offered a cogent explanation for why he believes we face what he called "a humanitarian crisis - a crisis of the heart and a crisis of the soul" along our southern border.
He pointed out the human cost of our broken system to illegal migrants themselves, expressing compassion for the "children [who] are used as human pawns by vicious coyotes and ruthless gangs" and the "women [who] are sexually assaulted on the dangerous trek up through Mexico." He shared heartbreaking stories of Americans killed by criminal aliens who had no right to be here - including a police officer in California who was killed, a 16-year-old girl who was brutally stabbed in Maryland and an Air Force veteran who was raped and beaten to death.
"I've held the hands of the weeping mothers and embraced the grief-stricken fathers," Trump declared. "I will never forget the pain in their eyes, the tremble in their voices or the sadness gripping their souls."

Did anyone ever think that perhaps drug money and/or foreign money is getting into the Democrat coffers to prolong the Drug Highway from Central America to the border? The biggest losers if a wall is built would be the drug cartels. Perhaps a serious investigation should be initiated into the Democrats finances (perhaps their income tax returns should be examined?)
His speech was one of the best I ever heard, and he stuck to hardcore FACTS that anybody can verify for themselves, but leave it to the media and the Marxist to constantly scream that he was lying. And now they are making out like government workers are starving to death because of this government shut down. Excuse me, but don’t we have this thing called unemployment insurance? You don’t have to be fired to collect it, “lack of work” is enough to qualify.
Add a significant number of republicrats into that mix as well.
They’re trying to praise him for pulling back to rhetoric instead of action—because that is exactly what he did on Tuesday.
They want him to settle for being the opposite of Teddy Roosevelt, to walk loudly but carry a little stick.
He changed course against declaring and emergency and having the military build the wall. He never would have used his first national address on saying nothing new—his plan out of the weekend had been to move on to the state of emergency.
I don’t know about the coffers of the DNC but probably 99% of the cocaine users and other assorted dopers I’ve met are hard core democrat voters. The Pig-Louse is just standing up for her constituents.
Pelosi and Schumer keep saying the reason people won’t get a paycheck is because of Trump. I say if they want the shutdown to end just give us the $5.7 billion and the shutdown is over. It’s not just Trump who controls the situation, the Dems control it too.

Well, she is a Californian. When I lived in LA, everybody was doing drugs. It was unbelievable.
Yeah, I was living in New York city at the time in the 1980s and the same here, it was everywhere, every club, every party. Same with weed. You would walk through a park, Washington square park, even uptown parks like Central park and you would have pot dealers yelling “weed weed weed” like used car salesmen. One thing that really stands out in my mind is I went to see that Simon and Garfunkel concert in Central park, I think that was 1982, and everybody was smoking weed and the cops were sitting on horseback right next to everybody ha ha, all this weed smoke going in their face and they didn’t bust anybody, very bizarre times.
Schyster and Dingbat hate you. $5 Billion isn’t even a penny to an average American in the budget.
I didn’t see much drug abuse in NYC during that time - but then I hung out with people who would drink alcohol rather than do drugs. And I hated going to Central Park concerts - sitting on wet grass in uncomfortable positions half a mile away from the performers...not my cup of tea.
In LA, everybody doing drugs had a handgun on the coffee table. I always wondered why.

Officials of every description have been stuffing their pockets for a long time. I don’t know of anything more certain to subvert all the US efforts at border security, and for so long.
Add to that the addiction some employers have for cheap labor and the question practically answers itself.
