- hiring only the compatence-privileged

In Cleveland there is a restaurant that hires ex-cons deliberately to get them into the work ethic, and then into the workforce. They learn specific work skills of food prep, and more general work skills like showing up reliably and not stealing anything. So far they have had some pretty good success.

Not all ex-cons want to stay stupid and re-offend, but many have no shot at getting hired and/or keeping a job.
