Sounds like Trump spent money where he could get a bang for his buck. That and the constant rallies to generate buzz like a rock star. Smart campaigning. That and having only a few issue repeated over and over like a mantra. It worked, obviously.
Trump’s campaign was very smart to do so. Everyone will be doing it going forward.
Team Hillary actually turned down their help.
Smartest woman in the world.”
I wanted to watch but when Leslie Stahl mentioned “Russia” , that was one gone channel.
Of Course Facebook worked with the campaign. There were millions of dollars to be had to do so. Didn’t like the politics maybe, but sure liked the money. The facebook algorithms couldn’t be beat. Gotta pay for that data and pay the campaign did. WOnder why Hilarity choose not to do so? Figured she had it in the bag? That was her mistake said the tortise to the hare.
I have no idea how effective it was for the campaign. It must be hard to measure the effectiveness. My wife uses it with her business, and I was rather surprised how much FB knows about users and how narrowly they can target ads.
The guy was obviously authentic and she was like a grandmother who knew nothing about the Internet.
“Micro-targeting?”
Sounds a bit like micro-aggression. And that just might be some orc devilry. /s
These kooks sound far, far worse than the most insane conspiracy nut.
Russia did it. Facebook did it. The NAZIs and KKK did it.
After 8 years of Obama / Democrat oppression and RINO acquiescing (or perhaps embracing), the average folks in this nation rose up and said we need a change from business as usual.
And the liberal Obama worshippers got the bubble that forms their collective echo chamber popped.
Trump’s election is not merely about his campaign techniques. It is about the values he stands for. Half the country is in a brainwashed stupor, nodding to the post-hypnotic suggestions they’ve had hammered into their heads regarding homosexuality, abortion, taxes, etc. But critical thinkers see through these lies.
Mainstream America elected Trump. We’ve been ignored far too long, and we needed someone who could cut through the noise and clutter of the liberal media in order to have our voice heard.
In cant stand her. and I don’t.
Sloppy journalism by the way. The author switches back and forth between referring to Brad Parscale by his first and last names.
Hillary turned them down. I wonder why.
Didn’t she spend like a billion dollars on her campaign?
This story is going to be used by Facebook to discriminate against the few conservative ads and non-PC ads that show up, in the name of fairness.
bullsh*t. Facebook ads did not get donald trump elected president. only a facebook employee would be so incredibly foolish.
Micro-targeting is fine and all, but I’d like to see him win a popular majority in 2020, on top of the electoral vote. It wasn’t ever going to happen in 2016, due to him being completely green and an unknown quantity in politics. But with 4 years under his belt, he should have a good shot, assuming he doesn’t screw the base.
He lost popularity because of voter fraud in big cities.
Both Google and Facebook have whole teams of customer support for working with digital ad buyers. When I was involved in spending only some 10s of thousands of dollars in digital ad buys for a company a few years ago, I was immediately offered personal contacts from both Google and Facebook, professionals who were very helpful in (free) tutoring me about targeting the ads and using the software tools to improve our campaign performance. I can only imagine that if they are that responsive to a small company spending a few $10s of thousands (of course their aim is to cultivate you for success so that you will want to spend more), then of course they would be far more helpful and labor-intensive for a client who can spend umpteen MILLIONS of dollars. They want your ads to be successful in your own terms as a client, so that you will be pleased with the ad response rates and want to spend more. Simple good business sense on their part.
There is nothing remotely nefarious about this if the service was offered equally to similar scaled customers. Hillary’s campaign team proves again that they were arrogant idiots. I’m sure Robby Mook, John Podesta, & co. thought they already “knew it all” and didn’t need such FREE client consulting services. Good for them, they lost.
Trump colluded with FaceBook. Who would have thunk it?
what you call collusion is what business people call train us to use your system.
FaceBook = Rooskies?
Makes sense for commies to stick together.
