A new CNN/ORC poll released Wednesday shows Donald Trump opening leads over Hillary Clinton in the key battleground states of Florida and Ohio. Clinton enjoyed a significant post-convention bump earlier in the summer, leading Trump in Florida by 7 points in one July poll, but this latest survey shows Trump ahead among likely voters in the Sunshine State, 47 percent to 44 percent. In Ohio, Clinton led Trump by 4 points in a poll last month, but now she lags behind with just 41 percent to his 46 percent support. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, meanwhile, pulls 6 percent in Florida and 8 percent in Ohio.
In both polls, Trump's lead narrows when the pool is widened to include all registered voters; among those respondents, Trump is ahead in Ohio 43 percent to 39 percent, but Clinton leads in Florida 45 percent to 44 percent. The margin of error among the smaller pool of likely voters for both states is 3.5 percentage points.
After these latest numbers, Talking Points Memo predicts Florida will break for the GOP this fall. But as Geoffrey Skelley from the University of Virginia Center for Politics points out: "The race has vacillated between larger and smaller Clinton leads. Is this a Clinton valley, a new normal, or [the] start of a Trump breakthrough?"
Like many, I hope this is really not a close election...
Remember that he under polled the entire primary.
Trump has this. Trump’s actual lead is under-reported in these biased polls. It must be killing the media to report that Trump has moved ahead.
I am hopeful that Crooked H will abandon FL and OH soon... so Trump can concentrate on flipping NC, VA, PA, MI and so on.

Hillary is spending a lot of time in NC. Trump must be surging there too.

Romney only won Independents by five points in 2012. Last Gallup I saw had Trump up by 20 points among Independents. If that holds or improves, Cankles has zero chance.

No, they’ll just stop reporting polls in FL and OH, instead saying that Trump is behind in the key battleground states of MI and PA...

I think NC, OH, FL, and Iowa are already in the Trump camp, as well as one Maine’s congressional districts.
Trump needs one of the following to put him over the top: PA, VA, WI, MI, CO or (NV + NH)
He’s got good shots in WI and MI, I think he’ll take NH...screw it, I could see him taking all but VA
I’m trying to find every Trump vote I can here in Vitginia.. I even got 3 former felons that our Gov. pardoned to register to vote for Trump.
