Johnson and one of his rivals, presumptive Green Party nominee Jill Stein, sued the commission last September, alleging violations of antitrust law and the First Amendment. Johnson and Stein are seeking spots on the all-important presidential debate stage this fall. But federal judge Rosemary M. Collyer threw out the lawsuit on Friday. In mid-September, the commission will add up five national polls and invite the candidates who are averaging at least 15% support. The first debate is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 26.

Stein will take more votes from Hillary than Trump. My guess is Johnson takes a few more votes from Trump, being a republican ex-governor along with his running mate.

I do not agree. Since 9/11 the LP has been a liberal party with one of its most primary positions, "let peaceful people cross borders freely." The LP always drew individuals from both of the major parties with carefully worded position statements that could be rationalized and accepted by the disenfranchised from both sides. Trump's polarizing nationalism will mean that "liberty" minded libertarians (small "l") will vote Trump, never Clinton.

The debates were buttoned up by the power elite after Perot.

and if the national polls get more than 15% support for a 3rd party candidate, they won’t report the results as they were submitted.

I really wish stein could be on stage. She’d make mincemeat out of Hillary. She’d throw some at trump but nothing like at Hillary.

I, too, wish that the other 2 candidates would be allowed on stage. I want as many people attacking Hillary as possible. I would also like to see any candidate attack the moderators when they do something like Candy did with having documents on a certain subject with her.
