MATH was never my strongest subject, so maybe I'm just not crunching the numbers right.
But the more I stare at them, the less sense Marco Rubio makes.
Rubio as the front-runner, I mean. As the probable Republican nominee.
According to odds makers and prediction markets, he's the best bet. According to many commentators, too....

As a political analyst, Frank Bruni was a halfway decent food critic.
This passage is classic:
“And when he missed a Senate vote last month, a spokesman for Cruz tweeted that it was because âhe had 1 event in a row in Iowa â a record-setting breakneck pace for Marco.â”
He could get rich as a salesman.
But he is a liar.
Rubio is even lazy.
His talent for speech has made success easy for him.
He wants to be a lobbyist.
Lots of talk...no action required.
Unlike pols, lobbyists need to deliver results. If working hard is a problem for him, I expect Rubio to go back into politics.
Be aware that the filing deadline for either house of Congress in the Florida Primary (Aug 30) is June 24th. He still has plenty of time to quit this Presidential Primary and still run again.
Frank Bruni, fighting the last war.
Rubio is looking for the path of least resistance...but he will not find it in lobbying.
His mouth will lead him back to politics...as you say.

Bush is still probably thev best bet to get the nomination. That is not win. That is GET
I was in the kitchen cooking the other night when one of his commercials came on. I never turned around to look just listened. He sounds like a breathless little boy. I was shocked that I never noticed before.
Try it. Just listen, don’t look when he speaks.
Lobbyist is a good option for a post-Senate career.
But isn’t there a prohibition against former members of the Congress or Senate from becoming lobbyists for a certain time period after leaving office?
If not, there should be.
He could always turn to state politics within Florida, maybe sharpening up for the next gubernatorial election. Couldn’t be worse than Charlie Crist.
This Rubio odds betting is surely set up by gypsies in veils, balancing a ball of crystal on their forehead. Too ridiculous for words, without a shred of reason but for sugar plums dancing.
Remember Johnny Carson in the turban? Just pulling it out of thin air, print it, and then read off the card to the public, huh?
Does anybody fall for that stuff anymore? I just don’t think so.
Exactly Right on
Both counts!
He’d have a hard time. Those who put him in the senate through their hard work do NOT appreciate his TREASON. We will NOT support the weasel again, just like Charley Crist. Take that to the bank!
I don't want to cast any unfair aspersions on his work ethic*. His pace may not be where it needs to be for many reasons - he may have health problems or any number of other things that have come up. The point is that if these issues persist, he's better off as a full-time pol rather than a lobbyist.
* Fred Thompson was a no-show in his presidential primary campaign in 2008 because he was fighting cancer. Paul Tsongas put on a brave front in 1992, but his previous battle with cancer probably kept him from getting enough face time with donors and primary voters.
Buh bye Rube.
Take your smooth speech to the used car lot.
Is his record any worse than that of other sitting Senators who have run for President in the last 60 years?
Given that the legislature votes on so many trivial things 8% isn’t a particularly high number. I can’t get too worked up about Rubio not sticking around to vote to make the last day of January Martian gay hermaphrodite day.
However, if he’s not showing up to meet voters, he will lose.
