DES MOINES â Donald J. Trump has dominated much of this political season, excited an often-ignored part of the electorate, filled huge arenas with followers and upended the rules of how modern campaigns are run.
But now he faces an urgent question: Can he actually win crucial early contest states?
Translating a personality-driven campaign to the voting booth is no easy feat, especially for a candidate who has never run before.
But here in the state with the first nominating contest, about six weeks away, Mr. Trump has fallen behind in the nuts and bolts of organizing. A loss in Iowa for Mr. Trump, where he has devoted the most resources of his campaign, could imperil his leads in the next two nominating states, New Hampshire and South Carolina, where his get-out-the-vote organizations are even less robust.
A successful ground game is crucial in Iowa because of the stateâs complicated method of caucus voting, but the Trump campaign has lagged in reaching some of its own benchmarks....

Fear, uncertainty, and doubt (often shortened to FUD) is a tactic used in sales, marketing, public relations,[1][2] politics and propaganda.
FUD is generally a strategic attempt to influence perception by disseminating negative and dubious or false information. An individual firm, for example, might use FUD to invite unfavorable opinions and speculation about a competitor’s product; to increase the general estimation of switching costs among current customers; or to maintain leverage over a current business partner who could potentially become a rival.
The term originated to describe disinformation tactics in the computer hardware industry[dubious â discuss] but has since been used more broadly.[3] FUD is a manifestation of the appeal to fear.
They (NYT, MSM, Democrats and RINO GOPe, won’t quit until the votes have actually been cast. Their goal is to sew doubt, foster dissention and create an impression that the Emperor has no clothes - something they refuse to admit about their dear leader, the One, the Only, the Obama.
sow doubt...my bad
Do we have this information from a reliable source?
A “gaffe?”
So if these voters freely attending caucuses decide to freely vote for Trump even if they weren't specifically told to do so or publicly announced ahead of time that they were going to do so then that would be OK.
Trump could have absolutely zero 'ground game' and still come away with a win.
The "complicated method of caucus voting" at the link in the article: "Since 2016 is a presidential election year, the first item of business will be to conduct a presidential preference poll. After the results are tabulated and announced, other state and county party business will proceed."
I guess that sounds complicated to some.
Hillary will most likely win Iowa in November. All those queer steers and agri welfare queens.

Gees! They admit they can't do it, but they're going to do it anyway! This is exactly what's wrong with the MSM today. They are not content in reporting the news, they first need to "translate" it to fit their perception of what it should be in their eyes. The NYT and most other papers are now one huge editorial page rather than simply reporting the news. This is exactly why I dropped my subscription: The implication is that the reader isn't smart enough to draw their own conclusions from the facts because it may not agree with their perception of the facts. And they wonder why they are losing subscribers.
Yeah, all 250K. I wonder if they'll stop writing stories like this after he's sworn in?
No ground game.
So you’re willing to bet me, right here & now, that he’ll win Iowa?

That would follow the pattern that has been established over the last 7 presidential elecitons.
The Democrat has won 6 to 1 GOP win.
New York Times...enough said...
Don’t even bother to read..
Nice to see the nyt scaling back it’s hatred for Trump ever so slightly. Earlier this week, they published a Godwin-style editorial about Trump’s Weimar America.
Don’t take the bait. Right now only God knows with certitude who will win IA. The rest of us are allowed to wait and see—and even allowed to criticize the NYT while we do so.
