Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has penned a piece arguing that Sen. Ted Cruz has mass appeal to conservatives as a Hispanic, a family man and a tea party favorite â not just that he looks good compared to the bombastic Republican front-runner, Donald Trump.
âThose who suggest the Republican establishment will not support Cruz donât know the Republican establishment very well,â Patrick wrote in USA Today. âHe may not be the first choice for some, but they know we must end the attack on American business. They want lower taxes, less regulation and an end to Obamacare.â
Patrick, also a Tea party favorite, endorsed Cruz in October and is chairman of the campaignâs Texas efforts.
Democrats said at the time of the endorsement, the alignment between Patrick and Cruz was proof that the Texas Republicans had gone âoff the ideological cliff.â(continued)

So, how many times are you going to post this?
Computers don’t always work like they should.
Nice post. First time I heard about this.
Go Cruz, winner of tonight’s debate.
They have shown they do not want any of those things, certainly not an end to obamacare. The only point where Cruz might be preferable to the gopes is that there is the tiniest ambiguity in his attitude toward Amnesty and importing jihadists perceptible to the desperate.
If thay’s true, it means the GOPe is defeated.
Oh they might swallow their bile and vote for him, but McConnell, Boehner, and McCain will never endorse Ted Cruz.
Trump had locked. GOPe will go with Trump. He is with money.
I’m glad to know this. Thanks for posting.
Cruz’s little border/illegal immigration etc. problems can be solved. He will follow the oath of office and enforce all existing laws, which would be a yuuuge step in the right direction.
Cruz or Trump, Trump or Cruz, it’s all good.
And of course his wife Heidi Nelson Cruz is the ultimate GOPe insider, having advocated for a North American Union (U.S.-Mexico-Canada, like the E.U. with a common currency, the 'Amero'), and also worked under Condi Rice at NSA and the U.S. Trade rep, who negotiated all those crappy trade deals Trump rails against.
Just because Cruz is of Spanish descent doesn’t give him extra support from he. If hs was from French, Portugese, Italian, Dutch or German descent, I would give him the same support.
BTW, why do people of Spanush descent deserve any more support than people from other European countries?
You forgot “born in Canada” and “hated by his peers.” Try harder.
It’s always good news when he has the establishment behind him.
: )
If Cruz wins the white house the gopE will stop him at every turn.
I’m not sure the GOPe has an affect any more...look at Jeb. I don’t think they are a threat.
I actually watched Kelly after the debate and they had at least 5 or 6 voters switch to Cruz (out of the 11 who had changed their minds).
Who's this "Kelly" you speak of? lol
I used to be a big consumer of Fox News...no more, I've switched to One America News.
But I digress...this woman couldn't stop raving about Cruz's performance, how he knocked every question/comment out of the park.
