Glad to hear that, not surprised. Floridians know Rubio.

.
This is a fact.

Cruz got a tremendous standing ovation at the end of his talk, and the audience literally mobbed him when he came down from the podium.

Rubio just got polite clapping.

I'm a Cruz supporter, and I'm surprised. The Establishment goes with John Ellis Bush (or Rubio), retired NYers and other northeasterners and Jews go with Trump big, Carson gets his piece of the evangelical vote. The state is winner take all. Carson and Rubio need a big collapse for Cruz to make a move. The Cruz number-crunchers may see something I don't.

This is going to be an incredibly interesting primary season, and maybe a very long one... and maybe not even settled after that. A lot of people firmly entrenched in a particular camp — Trump, Cruz, Carson, and the gaggle of GOPe types.

If you make a native son defend his own turf, he’s too busy to go on the offensive.

The equivalent would be Rubio showing up to standing ovations at events in Texas (not going to happen).

That occurred to me. For that reason, Reagan went to Michigan in ‘76, and Ford went to California for the same reason.

This also means that it really is a four man race. The strategy doesn’t work with a large field (especially with two in-state candidates and Trump, who appeals to NE transplants).

Right now, I’d peg it at a 3-man race.

1. Trump
2. Cruz
3. The GOPe’s pick (currently Rubio).

Don’t see how Carson stays in the game beyond Iowa because he’s not laying the ground work to qualify for the primary ballots in the other states. Some of them have substantial hurdles if he’s starting from scratch now.
