One word explains Donald Trump’s rise
The Washington Post's Wonkblog ^ | July 21, 2015 | Christopher Ingraham

Donald Trump is now the 2016 GOP frontrunner.

That sentence would have sounded ridiculous a month ago, but here we are. The billionaire real estate mogul and reality star has tough-talked his way to the top of the ticket for 24 percent of Republican voters, according to the latest Washington Post-ABC News poll. As The Upshot's Nate Cohn explains, Trump's post-announcement poll bump is of a completely different magnitude than what we're seeing elsewhere in the crowded GOP field.

All of which has observers scratching their heads and asking: what do people see in the guy?

A lot, as it turns out. On a recent trip to rural Upstate New York I was surprised by the intensity of support for Trump among friends and family members I talked to. In many cases, their support for Trump boiled down to a simple fact: they were angry.

Angry at Obama, angry at congressional leaders, and angry at the political establishment as a whole. And they're not alone -- surveys show that anger toward the government, particularly among Republicans, has been rising over the course of Obama's two terms in office.....

DH was reading an article to me, earlier, about how much- how many millions, the 0bamas have spent on their vacations. This must not be widely known or the pitchforks surely would have come out way before & people would be in the streets.
The only possible, plausible explanation is ignorance.

Of course, because they have no idea about what is going on in fly-over country as they call it! All politicians are so ignorant of the changes occurring and why. They are idiots!

“They” don’t want what we want. So “they” have no choice but to keep on attempting to control the masses. To bad for them, perhaps this time we will finally put them out of their misery.

Interesting that the paper’s graph is vague between fall of 2002 to 2010 so you can’t see when the upturn really occurred for reps and indies.

The thing is....what ever Trump is

Real or fake or a stocking horse for Hillary to wreck the GOP....what ever he is.....

We know what he's campaign on...we know what he's is saying and doing....and that why he is skyrocketing in the polls

it show its a winning position. .

Not the losing position the GOP-E keeps trying to tell it's base

.... We have the "experts" telling use that our wining potion is a losing postion...telling us the majority potion is a minority positions... and Trump campaign is showing us the "experts are not just wrong... but they are deliberately lying to manipulate .. a push pole..selling bs.

You're right. It looks like they're missing data from '03 to '10. Also, what's up with that drop in dissatisfaction in the last year? People around here have been getting more pissed off lately, not less.

What’s wrong with anger. In their world anger means it’s time ‘conflict resolution,’ everyone gets a trophy and there are no winners or losers.

Yep - kind of like having a bad rash for decades and suffering quietly. Then, when one points out you have a rash, going ballistic with opinions but still refusing to remove the irritant.
