Trump: I'm not thinking third party -- for now
Washington Examiner ^ | 7/7/15 | Byron York

Donald Trump's 2016 presidential run seems custom-made for a third party. The billionaire developer has never held political office, never run as a Republican or Democrat. He doesn't need a party's money-raising apparatus. His anti-politician appeal — "Politicians are never going to bring us to the promised land" — cuts equally against Republicans and Democrats. And as far as Republicans are concerned, Trump appears to connect with GOP voters who are so disgusted with the party's current Washington leadership that they would be open to a third-party campaign.

But in an interview Tuesday, Trump said he has no interest in running as a third-party candidate, at least for the moment. "I've had many, many people ask me about running as an independent," Trump told me in a telephone conversation. "My sole focus is to run as a Republican. I'm a conservative Republican."

"My sole focus is to run as a Republican," Trump repeated, "because of the fact that I believe that is the best way we can defeat the Democrats."

When I asked Trump to elaborate on why he would stay in the GOP, Trump cited his rising position in the polls, the big crowds he attracts, and his profile in the race. "We've hit a nerve," he said.

Even if that is true, I would much prefer if Trump runs as a republican.

“That’s probably the plan, I think it’s the only way she can win. I wouldn’t trust Trump one little bit. I like what he says from time to time but I think that he really can’t be trusted.”

Trump will do what he thinks is good for himself and his business interests. He won’t get the GOP nomination so when it comes to third party he will look for the best deal for his business. Will the boys at the Chamber of Commerce offer him more than the George Soros/Tom Steyer/Warren Buffet billionaire gang backing Hillary?

Trump’s political donation history would seem to prove your opinion.

From an April Washinton post article:

Recipients include Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (Nev.), former Pennsylvania governor Edward G. Rendell, and Rahm Emanuel, a former aide to President Obama who received $50,000 from Trump during his recent run to become Chicago’s mayor, records show. Many of the contributions have been concentrated in New York, Florida and other states where Trump has substantial real estate and casino interests.

The Democratic recipients of Trump’s donations make up what looks like a Republican enemies list, including former senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), Sen. John F. Kerry (Mass.), Rep. Charles B. Rangel (N.Y.), Sen. Charles E. Schumer (N.Y.) and the late liberal lion Edward M. Kennedy (Mass.).

In any race, Trump drops out after assuring a Dem or equivalent GOPe uniparty shill’s victory.

That is his function, just like his buddy Ross Perot.

“He has enough money to give $10 Million to next 90 generations of Trumps!”

No one knows how much money Trump has. He has not revealed his financial statements, required if he is to run for president. Time to do so is running out.

Some say Trump is near to broke.

Trump has always operated on “other people’s money.”

He’s one of the great scamsters of all time.

I'm a conservative Republican

Is that what he's calling himself today? I wonder what he will call himself tomorrow?

The only way I see myself ever voting for Trump would be in a Hillary/Yeb/Trump race.

Out of those three, Trump is obviously the lesser evil.

Trump personally has next to nothing.

He is a house of cards of trusts, LLPs, and REITs.

Believe those rumors only when the “TRUMP” billboards prominently displayed, are removed from properties in dozens of countries. If Trump was really broke, why would he risk losing NBC, Univision, Serta, Macy’s, PGA, LPGA, NASCAR etc? Does that make any logical sense to you?

Also, have you see any efforts by Trump to round up a few sugar daddy’s like EVERY OTHER candidate is doing?

It wasn't so long ago that he was pimping socialized health care.

If the GOP puts up Bush or Trump, I suppose I will finally waste my vote on a Conservative, assuming I can find one.
