The Left has become very devoted to the strategy of defining Republicans with early hits. Conventional wisdom holds such tactics were particularly effective against Sarah Palin as the vice-presidential candidate in 2008, and Mitt Romney on the top of the ticket in 2012. Thats why we have overheated and dishonest attempts to portray Senator Rand Paul as a short-tempered misogyinst, and a crusade to discredit Senator Ted Cruz as a spinner of tall tales, disconnected from reality.
The interview between Cruz and CNBCs John Harwood I mentioned yesterday in which Harwood asked, Why shouldnt somebody listen to you and say, The guyll just say anything doesnt have to be true?' is getting kicked around on the Left quite a bit, even though it was the weakest of challenges, and Cruz handled it adroitly. The folly of making such a big deal about a number Cruz quoted in a single speech, in the midst of a joke, hasnt slowed down the narrative-builders.
The Huffington Post, for example, reported the incident with the preposterous headline CNBC Reporter Hammers Ted Cruz: Why Should Anyone Believe What You Say?
Harwood didnt hammer Cruz; he asked a single question at the end of a generally cordial interview and was given a thoughtful response, on a topic so nitpicky that it made Harwood look ridiculous for harping on it. Word of warning, kids: if Hillary Clinton ever sits for a serious interview, instead of spending the entire campaign in a hermetically sealed bunker, a decent journalist will be able to hammer her veracity with issues far more serious than getting the total payroll of a federal agency wrong while telling a joke...

Word of warning kids-- don't hold your breath waiting for this to happen. She hasn't sat for a "serious interview" in her life and she won't be starting now.
Ted Cruz is sharp - way more so than Romney or Sarah when it comes to handling snotty lib reporters. The media hacks are mental midgets next to him, pubbie or rat.
Did Cruz say there were 57 States or that Obamacare will save the typical Family $2,500 a Year?
I must have missed it.
Ted Cruz shows amatures how it’s done to deal with the media..
But they're going to have a hard time trashing Rand and Cruz like they did Sarah. So far, it seems to be backfiring, as Rand is beating Hillary in the polls, with Cruz close behind.
Romans 1:.. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Proverbs 6:16-19 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
The left didn’t sabotage Romney. His own leftism and his implementation of the state level version of Obamacare destroyed him.
Meygn Kelly had a interview with a Fox News political analyst and showed the contrast between Ted Cruz and Rand Paul dealing with the media.
It was interesting.
Meygn Kelly was more supportive of Ted Cruz than Rand Paul, so was the political analyst.
...then monkeys will fly out of my butt.
Libtards haven’t read Tsun Tzu. They don’t realize the battlefield has changed since they assassinated Palin. Trying old tricks on a new battlefield gets you killed. Cruz is probably smart enough to rope these dopes. They richly deserve it. It seems he is letting them scurry around in the smoke and confusion following his Lynchburg speech. Smart enough to stay back and away while they continue to reel from his last maneuver letting it have maximal effect befor striking the next blow. Like watching a chess game and the libtards are pulling out every move they know but he seems to know how to turn each of them back on them. Only Rand has struck anywhere nearly as good a blow with his “Ask Debbie...” remark.
I watched Trump, whom I normally would not take seriously last night. I was struck by what must pass for sincerity when he said “I just want what is best for America...”. Imagine, if you will, Trump concludes Cruz is it. Imagine the GOP insists on the latest Dole/McCain/Romney, Jeb running vs. The Witch and Cruz goes 3rd party on Trump’s dime. Imagine a Cruz/Trumo ticket with Trump stating bluntly “Cruz is the man I hired to make America Great Again!”. Try beating that ticket beltway elites!
Alinsky tactics.
We see this article and think, "Wow. Cruz really handled himself well." Of course, we are reading Cruz's comments in context.
However, John Q. and Joan Q. Dimwit see this, "CNBC Reporter Hammers Ted Cruz: Why Should Anyone Believe What You Say?", and swallow it whole without questioning it. Unfortunately, John Q. and Joan Q. Dimwit comprise a large portion of the swing voters.
How do we combat such willful ignorance?
The View is hanging on by its last leftist dying breath just to have Hillary sit down and be “just one of the girls” talking about lace doileys and window treatments.
“... handling snotty lib reporters, ...”
This technique is not something Cruz just learned.
When he was in college; participating on Debate Teams - and winning championships .. he learned this: Be able to state your views without getting exhibiting anger at what the other guy is saying.
I dare say, the LEFT does not do this, and they don’t even care to learn how. They just want to yell the loudest, thinking that is the way to get your point across. Because, they don’t want an even give and take .. they want to wipe the floor with everybody .. making it an ARGUMENT, instead of a DEBATE.
Don’t ever believe “a lively debate” was ever a debate at all .. it was AN ARGUMENT of: I’m right and you’re wrong.
“... a spinner of tall tales, disconnected from reality.”
When the left says stuff like this: They are proving once again WHO THEY REALLY ARE. This statements is actually telling people that the LEFT IS: A SPINNER OF TALL TALES, DISCONNECTED FROM REALITY.
AMAZING ..!!
We’ll have to start from scratch and get rid of the fire-breathing, ultra-leftist unions running our schools, and filling our children’s heads full of mush.
