Bobby Jindal vs. the world
Politico ^ | 2/9/15 | James Hohmann

Posted on 02/09/2015 7:05:48 PM PST by entropy12

During a 40-minute interview in Washington late last week, an energized Jindal hit back at his critics on the right and left, dismissing them as elitist hacks who can’t stand the idea of an Ivy League-educated, unapologetic conservative. He accused GOP bosses in Washington of trying to sanitize the nomination battle and “get us to stop being so rude.” He blasted right-leaning writers who’ve criticized him, saying they’re just out to curry favor with the editorial page of The New York Times and get booked on the Sunday shows. And the 43-year-old governor argued that some Republicans are fine with crony capitalism, as long as their pockets are being lined. It’s all part of a concerted effort by the likely presidential candidate to run as the purest anti-Washington conservative in the GOP field – one who unlike, say, Ted Cruz, boasts years of executive experience.

“There’s this tendency amongst even conservative elites to back away from our principles,” Jindal told POLITICO at the offices of the Republican Governors Association. “We need to be unafraid…We don’t need to apologize for our beliefs.”

Well said Governor!

Jindal is in my top tier of possible candidates. If he is the nominee I would not only vote for him, but also contribute to his cause and campaign for him.

Geaux Bobby!

Bobby, please shut up!

You will make Soccer Moms, Latinos, LGBTG Communities, African-Americans, Native Americans, The Handicapped, The Young, The Elderly, The Native Americans, The Asians, (well maybe not them) Women,The Unions, Atheists, Evolutionists, and Middle-of-the-Road Independents nervous.

Talk about things everyone wants, like more crossing guards for school kids, better cuts of beef on EBT cards, fewer guns, better education for minorities, gay marriage, free transgender operations, free college, lower taxes, forgiveness of student loans AND home mortgages, a citizenship path for illegal aliens .... like that, Bobby.

Just do what Karl Rove says, OK? OK, we might lose the election, but we'll have great hands-across-the-aisle bi-partisanship and those in safe GOPe seats will get to keep all that money!

He needs our prayers for strength and for protection. The GOP-e will go after him the same way they do with Palin and Cruz.

He should be on Ted Cruz’s short list for a running mate, along with Scott Walker, Sarah Palin and Susana Martinez.

The only people really nervous are the GOP elites. Thay are not used to fearless conservatives. Also Jindal has never said anything against Soccer Moms, Latinos, African-Americans, Native Americans, The Handicapped, The Young, The Elderly, The Native Americans, The Asians, Women, Evolutionists, and Middle-of-the-Road Independents.

At least I have not seen any tirades from Jindal of above groups. If you have some links, I would be happy to read and educate myself. I read a lot, so it would not burden me to read your links.

Also Jindal has never said anything against ...

Well of course he hasn't. But because he's a conservative, the GOPe fears it will be believed that he did. The voters will also receive frequent reminders from the MSM. As if that were not enough, the namby-pamby GOPe candidates will echo the MSM in the primaries, too!

Joe Biden said that "if the Republicans get elected they will put the chains back on black people." The RNC lives in mortal fear of such stupid statements from the Left and faithfully reported as "news" by the MSM. That is why the very existence of a Cruz ... or a Jindal .... is anathema to the Republican establishment.

The Established Republican Party, as you can see from the present Congress, wants no part of governance. They want no controversy, no matter how mild. What they want is to keep their place as the loyal and extremely well rewarded opposition.

Governors should be disqualified. They just can’t help themselves from governating.

If Jindal were the nominee, I could support and vote or hi enthusiastically. But my idea of the perfect ticket is Cruz/Jindal.

We need Cruz, the ideologue with a will of steel, first. We need somebody who can turn the country around -- against the wailing and moaning of a Democrat minority, the MSM and academia. We need a leader who can speak to the American people above the din and convince them of the righteousness of his cause.

Then, we need Gov. Jindal -- to do what GHWB refused to do, build on the legacy. A true conservative and skilled administrator, Jindal is the perfect leader to institutionalize conservative philosophy and policies.

Imagine what the world might be like today if President Reagan had been followed by a Bobby Jindal instead of a George Herbert Walker Bush...

/Sarc......we should stick to electing senators from Chicago who never even ran a hot dog stand or a lemonade stand, much less successfully. Better yet if the senators believe in socialized healthcare, redistribution of wealth from the hard working to the hardly working, and promote radical Islam as Arab spring, the better.

Ted Cruz is the most skilled speech giver in GOP, no exceptions. And he seldom changes his positions.

Jindal’s like Walker, another Establishment guy being positioned for a fight for and share of the “conservative alternative” vote. He’s angling for the Huckabee, Southern social conservative “lane”. E.g., he’s long been a pro-amnesty guy, playing now as if he isn’t. E.g., he was given that slot delivering the GOP SotU response six years ago.

Cruz is a solid conservative who is not a governor. Governors are busybodies. Christie, Bush, Romney, Huck, who am I missing?

Agreed. Both Cruz and Jindal are bold, and I like that. But the problem with Jindal is that he is very uneven. He really can't be counted on to give a great speech...you just never know until it's over. Perhaps he will improve with time.
