Alameel to wary Texas Democrats: ‘This is just the beginning’ (Run against Cruz in '18?)

Texas U.S. Senate hopeful David Alameel, who lost to incumbent Republican John Cornyn by a 27-point margin on Nov. 4, is giving no indication of fading away.

In an email Tuesday providing excerpts of his Election Night speech, Alameel trashed the Texas Democratic Party and vowed to carry on in 2018 – presumably when GOP Sen. Ted Cruz is up for reelection.

“This is just the beginning for David Alameel for US Senate,” Alameel said. “We knew going in that it’s going to be an uphill battle. But we also knew that we’re in this for the long haul… Our journey to victory continues! 2018 is just around the corner and we have a lot of work to do.”

Alameel, a dentist who largely funded his own campaign (and donated in the past to Cornyn as well), said Texas Democrats all but left him for dead.

“When I first announced that I was interested in running for the U. S. Senate, our party headquarters in Austin flat out told me not to run,” he said. “And if that was not offensive enough, they offered me a deal: that if I gave them a really big donation, like half a million dollars, then they would in effect bless my candidacy across Texas.”

When he refused, he said, party officials backed one of his primary opponents – presumably El Paso attorney Maxey Scherr (though he didn’t mention her by name). When LaRouche follower Kesha Rogers made it to a run-off instead, Alameel said, “they panicked.”(continued)

Won’t he be running against the Guy that Abbott appoints after Cruz is elected President in 2016?

The GOPe and the dems have probably already cut the deal to try to get rid of Cruz. They’ll send in the Barbours to give Alameel a hand. They’ll gather up all the newly amnestied illegals to vote in border towns. The UniParty must be served.

He donated $15k to Cornyn and then lost to him? Not the brightest bulb in the box...

When Democrats lose elections, they see it as a temporary setback, just a blip on their long march to ultimate victory.

When Republicans lose, we tend to see it as inevitable and just more evidence that we’re on the losing end of history.

This is a psychology we must try to change.

Guess it will be hard to run against Cruz in 2018 since he will be in his first term in the WH

I stand with Ted

“This is just the beginning for David Alameel for US Senate,” Alameel said.

Never, EVER vote for anyone who refers to himself in the third person.

I would’ve voted for General of the Army MacArthur, but that’s the one exception to that rule.
