McConnell Gets a Lot of Questions About Ted Cruz During Senate Presser
Mediaite ^ | November 5, 2014 | Josh Feldman

Mitch McConnell, the expected new Majority Leader of the Senate, held a press conference on last night’s big wins today, and a remarkable number of questions he got were about one person in particular: Ted Cruz. Yes, Cruz not saying last night whether he would absolutely, 100 percent support McConnell for the Majority Leader position opened the floodgates today with reporters asking a lot about whether McConnell will be able to handle Cruz.

The first question McConnell got wasn’t about Cruz in particular, but it referred to senators with presidential aspirations that McConnell may need to keep in check (this one actually counts as a two-fer, since Rand Paul also fits the bill). McConnell said he has no problem with people’s ambitions and isn’t “troubled” by what people might do.

He got questions about the call he had with Cruz after he won reelection. McConnell said it was a very nice, cordial conversation. That immediately led into another question as to whether Cruz and others might “make it more difficult” for the GOP to have a “responsible, governing majority.”

And at the end of the presser, McConnell got one more question of whether Cruz pledged his support to McConnell as Majority Leader. McConnell said, “Let me make this prediction for you: a week from tomorrow I’ll be elected Majority Leader of the Senate.”

Here we go. Over the next month, the MSM is desperately going to try to undermine the Republican victory by pushing the idea that the GOP is going to let “crazy” Ted Cruz ban birth control, repeal Obamacare, impeach Obama and shut down the government to throw children and the elderly out on the street.

A responsible GOP will roll back as much of the six years of Obama/Reid/Pelosi irresponsibility as possible. That will require conservative governance and adherence to principle, traits McConnell is not yet known to possess.

Open Letter to Mitch McConnell

Congratulations on your win. It is commendable that you were able to keep another liberal Democrat from gaining a foothold in the US Senate. For that, you deserve thanks and credit.

Now, though, after the huge Republican win, it’s time for you to recuse yourself from consideration for the Majority Leader position.

Unfortunately you have been too divisive and polarizing over the past year.

Your extreme comments against fellow Republicans make it such that you’ve spent too much goodwill among the whole Big Tent.

Your comments in fact amount to a conflict of interest in leading the whole of the Republican Party in the Senate.

Your being Leader would prove counterproductive and not be the best way forward for efficient and pro-active Conservative movement.

Thank you Senator McConnell, in advance, for doing what is best for the nation and taking yourself out of consideration for Majority Leader.

Mr. Turtle, how many knocks against the head does it take to realize you should be listening to Ted Cruz?

They are just trying to load their guns and project their hatred of Cruz onto McConnell.

It’s not gonna get any smarter with this crowd, and it may well get a lot stupider.

Is the MSM nervous about Cruz? ;) I reckon they should be. When one of the first things out of McConnell’s yap is seeing to re-election, it smells like eRino business-as-usual. Why don’t they let Republican voters pick the speaker? Perhaps he should step back, get a bottle of viagra and take a second honeymoon while the real business of guiding the nation and cleaning out 0bama’s messes is handled by the serious adults in the party...

We want the same level of compromise that was extended to us by Ried and obama the last 6 years ZIP!! This party will self destruct if they dont stop the establishment from attacking conservatives like they did in Mississipi where they paid black democrats to vote against McDaniel in the primary and support that dinosaur RINO Cock RAN. That will never be forgotten. It was done by Barber,Cornyn and Karl Rove. We will not forgive or forget.

It’s simply the media’s “take out anyone who presents a threat to the Dems in ‘16” season again.

Oh, it's disgusting! Dems in power--it's FU, Repubs; dems out of power, they scream for power-sharing! And the go-along gang falls/bends over for it, every time!

We make history, and who's leading our party? Two of the wimpiest, most ineffective and non-combative politicians on earth! They're two boobs in the same bra! Anybody up for a pair of recall elections, get those weak tits out of our party! I've known people like them in life, they make nice to bullies hoping they won't get their asses kicked and their lunch money taken away, but that never works...

I anticipate Mitch and both Houses will be much more conservative. Considering the Election, he may have actually played things right to stay in the shadows dodging and weaving.

Even though the Tea Party ‘ORGS’ did not kick a lot of butt in the election, real grassroot Tea Party type folks did and the GOP knows it.
