New York state Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney announced a primary challenge to Republican Rep. Richard Hanna Wednesday morning, hitting her opponent from the right.
Tenney, a second-term conservative Republican and lifelong resident of New Hartford, launched the challenge to the two-term congressman at 9 a.m.

Here’s more from the article:
“Since his election, Hanna has raised the ire of conservatives, supporting hot-button issues like tax hikes, NPR and the Ground Zero mosque (before he changed his mind); breaking with the GOP to vote against a one-year delay of Obamacare shortly before the government shutdown; and telling women to give their money to Democrats. The National Journal rated Hanna the 3rd-most liberal Republican in Congress for 2013.”
Hanna represents a district that votes Republican in most elections. Enough said.
It now takes $3.1 million dollars on average for a successful run at a House seat. That doesn’t include the primary costs. McCain spent $23 million dollars when somebody tried to primary him. Obviously, it’s about the power and control, not the money. But this guy will doubtless need an extra million or two for his primary.
Good luck to her

Anyone heard from the he’s not a fighter/time for him to go/three terms is enough/no more career politicians/his record is trending downward crowd on this one? I haven’t heard a peep out of them about it, nor anything RINO Lamar Alexander vs. Joe Carr and many others races featuring a useless RINO vs. conservative challenger. And when it comes to crazy Paulbot Justin Amash in Michigan, they actually seem to prefer him over his more conservative challenger.
Yet they were hellbent on defeating solidly conservative incumbents like Pat Roberts and Mike Enzi, and blasting them every week.
I have to wonder about the priorities of some conservatives.
90%+ conservative Senators that Mark Levin doesn’t like for some reason > House RINOs in districts that could do much better
This, along with ID-2, is among the most important US House primaries this year.
“..I have to wonder about the priorities of some conservatives.”
Some who fancy themselves as conservatives are really “moderates.”
But some might just need to be informed. Talk with everyone you know, write a letter to the editor, call a talk show, and tell what you know about the differences between the candidates.
Late to this thread, but thanks for the Twitter links.
Here’s her newest Twitter account, so not many followers yet. Let’s all give this STRONG conservtive a follow, even if we’re not from her district, or NY State. We need all the true conservatives we can get in Congress, who won’t do everything the Speakers tells them to do.
