Your post reminds me of that old Peanuts comic strip where Snoopy keeps pressing the button at the crosswalk signal, but nothing happens.

Finally Lucy comes walking by and says “You do realize that you have to use your feet too...”

Julia can’t take your call right now, but if you leave your name, number and an EBT card - she’ll call you back.

“Here’s a crazy idea for governors across the country. Get up off your asses and fight back against the feds who are killing jobs.”

That would be a solution, hovwever, we all know those Governors would love to be a fed and won’t raise a finger against their masters.

LOL! Looks like .gov is going to run the "dead-beat borrower" playbook on the unemployed.

See, when the Too Big Too Fail banks got caught making questionable loans (with fraudulent documentation) to people who couldn't afford them back during the Housing Bubble, they started in with the "dead-beat borrower" meme, pretending that somehow these "peasant sharpies" outwitted these highly-paid banking professionals.

Now, it's the turn of "dead-beat unemployed" in the barrel. We're supposed to pay no attention to .gov behind the curtain killing all the jobs with insane regulations & conspiring to send the rest to Mexico and Asia.

Naturally, the 75% of people who have jobs are going to believe the .gov swill propaganda.

Preferably something with teeth.

To all you able-bodied people out there get off the couch and get yourself a job

Does Maine have any laws against discriminating against unemployed people? Can the long-term unemployed really find jobs there? Is the Maine Department of Unemployment prepared to handle the influx of people seeking work for which they are qualified? How effective is the Maine Department of Unemployment at placing its clients at suitable jobs?

If conditions there are anything like the conditions where I live, then the Governor's call is a hollow one. There need to be jobs first. Washington DC is doing its level best to curb job growth by giving investors and bosses the jitters about the future, so those people hold back from job creation.

The dweebs in DC haven't figured out why companies are hoarding their cash: it's cheaper to save it than to risk losing it to regulation and taxation. Companies want to make their dollars work. But it has to be a positive result, not a negative one. Companies are required by stockholders and lenders to make profit, not engage in blind social welfare. Our community organizer in chief loses sight of this fact.

Maybe the Gov should look into state subsidies to lure in couch manufacturers.

I worked at the “unemployment office” for many years in Iowa and for awhile in Texas after Katrina. If you are relying on the staff at the state office to find you work, you’re already screwed. Most people find work these days through the Internet or word-of-mouth from friends/relatives/co-religionists/former co-workers/networking.

A friend of the family knows LePage pretty well. Says that he's the real deal.

If he doesn't get smeared a la Herman Cain, he might go places in a few years.

What’s the governor have to say about the Democrat party “base” of welfare parasites?

The only “problem” with LePage is that he is blunt. That offends certain people with delicate sensibilities. He’s doing good things but Maine is very much a welfare state. He’ll probably be replaced next time by another nanny stater.
