Michele Bachmann is more viable than Sarah Palin (So say the jourbalists)
The San Francisco Chronicle / The Washington Post ^ | June 29, 2011 | Chris Cillizza

Posted on 06/29/2011 12:37:58 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sarah Palin was in Iowa Tuesday. Michele Bachmann announced her candidacy there on Monday. For reporters, that's a coincidence impossible to resist; scads of stories are being produced comparing the two women.

Comparisons between Palin and Bachmann are, at one level, apt. Both are women who align most closely with social conservatives. Both are outspoken defenders of their chosen causes whose rhetoric occasionally gets them into hot water.

But over the past few months, Bachmann has proven she is different in important ways from Palin - differences that make her the more viable of the two when it comes to the 2012 presidential race:

Looking outside: After the 2008 election, Palin was the hottest commodity in Republican politics. She briefly sought to expand her narrow inner circle but those relationships frayed, leaving her on a bit of a strategic island. (Her closest adviser, according to everyone familiar with her, is her husband, Todd.) By contrast, Bachmann brought in longtime GOP operative Ed Rollins to manage her presidential campaign.

Debates: Palin has never squared off with other top Republicans in a debate format. Bachmann has - and she shined in the New Hampshire debate earlier this month. The ability to stand on a stage and look like you belong matters in a presidential race.

Iowa counts: Every candidate needs a state early in the campaign where she (or he) can score a win. That's Iowa for Bachmann, who is in a statistical dead heat with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in a new Des Moines Register poll, and she was born in the state. Palin doesn't sit on top in any early state.....

Hardly!

And this puff piece on Bachmann is NOT going to help her one bit.

Bachmann has a lower favorable than Palin does, but while the posted that, they overlooked it and talked about the unfavorable numbers instead.

From the San Francisco Chronicle / The Washington Post

Well now you just know this has to be the unbiased truth.
These people are trying their best to help us pick the most viable candidate, concerned about conservatives' well being as always :^)

The author of this screed said she made a so called brilliant move by hiring Ed Rollins. Yes she did, and immediately turned off many, many people on the right by hiring this inside the beltway RINO hack, who is absolutely loathed by any right thinking conservative. IMO, that move doomed her, she now has no chance, as in NADA.

But Rollins is not Bachmann’s only problem, now it seems not a day goes by that she does not pull off a self inflicted and destructive Newt move.

And nobody in the bachmann camp on this forum seems to get that we were NOT aligned whatsover against bachmann, nor did we try to take her down, nor did we even speak ill of her before she hired rollins and sent him out to bash Palin. Everything she has done since then is opposite of what she WAS doing before. The gaffes, I could handle. But all of it adds up, and it just doesn’t stop.
Most of us were thinking of mb and Sarah as a team. What kind of a friend saya and does things like this?

These same “journalists” that claim she is more viable will say, if she won the nomination, that she has only been a congresswoman. That being said, I am still majorly turned off by the sniping by Rollins, let alone his actual hiring.

As to Sarah: These same “journalists” and GOP hacks and PDS’ers alike keep harping that Palin needs to start now. Why is she jerking around her supporters? Why is she being so coy? Yada, yada.

Here is my prediction: she will run and will enter the race a few days after July 26 (the last day the nutties can file frivolous lawsuits.) She will inevitably be asked two questions: Why should people support her when she resigned from her Governor’s position before her term was complete? And why did she wait so long to jump into the race?

On the first one, she will in great detail explain the various frivolous lawsuits that were filed, how outlandish the attached claims were, that every one was tossed (maybe one was not concluded) and yet she was going broke because she had to use private funds. On the second, she will simply repeat the answer to the first question and then state she had to wait until the two-year anniversary of her resignation to avoid the same unsavory onslaught of frivolous lawsuits against her former employment role.

And oh, what a run this will be. I am very patient. She knowa what she is doing and that is all I care about. She doesn’t have to hurry. This is a run whether the lamesteam knows it or not. I sure don’t need their ackowledgement to know what’s in front of my face.

Yes, and a woman, Republican, member of the House, won’t the state run media have another unexpected moment when that trumps their failed agenda.

They’d tear Bachmann to shreds the minute she wasn’t useful to them—which would be far short of her reaching the White House.

Palin’s the real deal—whom they’re still trying to stop.

No matter who the Republican nominee is, they have my vote. If Ron Paul wins, I wear a bag over my head on election day when I show up to vote for him. Since I'm from North Carolina, the only name on our primary ballot will be the clear-cut winner and those holding on to have a voice at the convention. Hopefully the clear-cut winner will be a Tea Party Conservative.
