Hoyer: Dems won’t lose the House (I think he's serious!)
The Hill ^ | September 12, 2010 | Ben Geman

Posted on 09/13/2010 9:49:03 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) acknowledged Sunday that Democrats will lose seats in the midterm elections but said they will keep their majority.

“We are going to hold the House,” said Hoyer, appearing on CNN’s State of the Union. “We are going to lose seats, probably,” he added, but declined to speculate on the number.

Hoyer acknowledged that the party may have to eventually pull resources from races that become hopeless, but said that point has not been reached.

“If there are candidates that are very substantially behind and they can’t make it, we will have to make some tough judgments,” he said. “That decision has not been made.”

At this moment, I think it’s better for us to be prepared as if what he’s saying is correct that we’ll work harder to make sure that he’s wrong.

The election is still not for about what, 50 days? That’s very long time in politics, and polls can change in the course of 1-2 weeks. The difference between 1994 and 2010 is not 0bama. It’s that this year the Dhims are fully aware of their situation so that will work harder to prevent it from happening. They still have money, MSM backing who will portray any Republican in worst possible angle, and a legion of believers who will do anything to keep moving 0bama’s agenda forward.

These people (The Left) have not come this far over the 9 decades they have waited to seize this much power as they have, and subject losing all of it to the unpredictability of a ballot box. They have more then a few tricks up their sleeves before November comes. In fact we shouldn’t be surprised if some “man caused disaster” finds its way onto this soil again right about that time in an attempt do postpone elections, depress turnout..or any other such thing. They’re not going anywhere without a stiff fight to keep their power.

Spend all of the millions you want on goofy campaign ads. Americans are pissed. And they are pissed at the DemocRATS. The only chance the ‘RATS have is massive voter fraud. Americans will have to be vigilant.

There is going to be massive vote fraud, but, like in The Incredibles, they’ll keep it close, to be plausible.

Then, when Obama wins in 2012, we’ll know we’ve been had, and will revolt.

Can he be this obtuse or is this just spin?

I think he's counting on the kind of Republican complacency and hubris I see expressed over and over again right here on FR. If conservatives don't scramble to get out their vote to counter unions and heavy Democrat advertising from the TARP slush fund, he's probably right. This election is ours to lose.

Forget his statements amount not losing the house. How about this line: “We are going to lose seats, probably.”

Probably going to lose seats? Probably?

HOPEless? How can that be? From the party of HOPE and CHANGE?
