(Vanity) I'm Taking a Breather from Free Republic
No Source ^ | June 30, 2003 | Lazamataz

Hi everyone. I'm thinking about taking a breather from Free Republic for a little while. Not long, I'm sure. But, I just don't want it to interfere with my job, and I already had that happen once. I'm reading and posting much too much. I think a short sabbatical should help me break this bad habit.

See you all soon .... NOT DURING WORK HOURS!

This is the equivalent of letting everyone know that you're walking out of your house.

I could post about that, cuz that would be at home.... hmm.....

Naw. Breather from FR, completely.

I think the new FR poll should be:
"How many of you FReepers should be working instead of posting?"

Didn't you just come back a few months ago after being gone some time?

This is the equivalent of letting everyone know that you're walking out of your house.

Or that you're just plain tired of the chair sticking to your butt.

You should have been warned that it was addicting!

He was. FR's home page gives that warning. But that would not exclude a lawsuit given today's courts.

Are you giving temporary custody of your tagline to someone, while you are absent?

Well, you could use it, but it would be so unoriginal that I would think you wouldn't want to.

I have a little insight into your problem. I was out with the Mrs in Las Vegas last week and we climbed into a cab. The cabby's son is returning soon from Iraq. He proceeded to real off a number of observations about the state of the union. They sounded very FReeperish.

I asked him if he ever heard of FR. He answered no. I told to him to check it out.

Shortly after I paid the fare and proceeded into the Rio to see Penn and Teller, my wife punched in my bad arm and asked, "Do you ever stop thinking about what is going on at Free Republic?" I answered her truthfully. "No, it is too important to ignore." After she was finished glaring at me we had a good time, although I thought Penn and Teller did a mediocre job.
