Chicago Bears have released some stunning AI-generated images of a new stadium that could be built on the city waterfront - but not all residents in The Windy City are impressed.
The NFL team shared the pictures on Wednesday afternoon, before Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson led a press conference about the proposals.
According to FOX32 Chicago, the stadium will cost around $3.2billion to build with the Bears paying for $2billion themselves. It would hold 65,000 people with a target opening of 2028.
The stadium will not only host sporting events - music concerts will be held there as well and 14 acres of green space and athletic fields will surround it.
But as the proposals were released on Wednesday, there was one recurring them in the reactions on social media: 'What about the parking?'
One fan wrote on X: 'We parking our boats in Lake Michigan?' while another said 'Apparently there is no need for parking'.

3.2 billion puts it as one of the most expensive buildings ever built in the nation.

*sorry to see that Trump Taj Mahal fell off the bottom of that page. In current dollars it is one of the most expensive buildings ever constructed at over a billion dollars in 1989.
It will make for a fantastic immigrant - er, “newcomer” shelter!
Billions spent and it’ll still be under the ownership of the Green Bay Packers 🤣💯🔥
Any word on who gets to eat the at least nine figures of inevitable costs overruns...?
There will be no need for parking. By the time it’s ready for use, there will be tens of thousands of Musk’s self-driving robotaxis (promised since 2016) to take people to and from the arena. /s
Buffalo Bills sale could reportedly be motivated by staggering cost overruns for new stadium
That ramp in front looks pretty steep!
“AI generated”
🙄
The new Baltimore baseball stadium in 1992 cost $110 million. Maybe that is $200 million or more in today’s money. What kind of gold plating will it have to cost $3 billion?
Back a long time ago when I would quote jobs in Chicago you had to put 10% bribe money into your quote.
Plus you have to deal with Ironworkers local #1.
Another Corporate Playground.
NBC buried the lede.
Right now the Bills’ stadium is looking at $600 mil in cost overruns.
What kind of gold plating will it have to cost $3 billion?

The UNION kind. I saw a figure yesterday of $$4.7 billion. If the Bears and the City of Chicago are going to pay for it, that’s one thing. I live 90 miles from there. I’m a lifelong Bears fan, but I’ll bet dollars to donuts that Pritzger and the Illinois democrats raise our taxes here to help pay for it. I’ve never attended a game there-it’s just too expensive. I can’t imagine what tickets are going to cost.
I’m also a Cubs fan, and I can’t watch any of their games because the Ricketts family who owns them also owns The Marquee network that televises their games. I don’t have Comcast (Xfinity) for tv anymore it’s too expensive. Either I pay for Xfinity, or I pay for the Marqee Network. Or I don’t watch them.
It’s all about money. Us peons don’t even get to watch unless we pay extra.
Da Bears!
If it starts raining really heavily, and I see pairs of animals heading into that stadium, I’m grabbing my swim trunks and running.
That design is going to be a wind tunnel. There will be no control of the ball in the air.
The whole thing looks gross.
