An autistic boy was shot dead by police in California after he ran towards them with a bladed gardening tool, according to officials.
Harrowing bodycam footage shows the moment Ryan Gainer, 15, runs out of his Apple Valley in San Bernardino county on Saturday and towards the deputies.
A deputy is heard saying, 'Hey get back! Get back or you're gonna get shot,' before opening fire.
Police showed up at his home after receiving a 911 call reporting the teen was assaulting family members and damaging property, as reported by KTLA.
According to an official report, Gainer charged at the officers with the five-foot-long gardening tool as soon as they arrived.
A deputy said he tried to get away but opened fire after the teen chased after him.
'Without provocation, Gainer raised the bladed end of the tool and ran toward the deputy,' the release stated.
'The deputy retreated, and Gainer chased the deputy in an attempt to assault him with the bladed end of the tool.'
Officers provided medical aid until paramedics arrived, but the teen was later declared dead at the hospital.
No deputies were injured in the incident, which is under investigation by the police department's specialized investigations division.
During the 911 call, Gainer's sister reported that he was attacking one of their siblings and trying to break a window and door.

In the 90’s the Nashville PD got called to a house because of a “mentally deficient” woman named Jackie Brooks. They get there, she comes running at the cop with a knife up and in a threatening position. He unloaded his 9mm into her, and she FINALLY fell. There was a big bruhaha about that, and then the cops all switched to 10mm.
Sounds like suicide-by-cop.
I am sure the cops “feared for their life”
They went home safe at the end of their shift, all that matters.

Austin is a catch all meaningless phrase.
A lot of “autistic” teen boys are violent psychopaths.
I am sure there is totally unjustified shooting, beating up, etc. However, if someone is coming at you with a scythe, what are you supposed to do? Wait until you get stabbed. That looks more dangerous than a knife.
Sometimes I am so ashamed of so called conservatives. So black and white about death. No exceptions for you people. No amount of risk is acceptable. Instead of arguing if this situation warranted such immediate action you all just want to kill- Kill- Kill. Cowards.

Funniest spell correct I’ve seen: “don’t want him killed”, “don’t want heads cut off” , type simething like Autisn => what’s the following word intended? Autism? Naah, more likely Austin.
Even more likely, Chicago.
In the eighties I went on a business trip from Austin to Chicago. While there one days local headlines were “judge shot to death in open court” and “police find headless body in back seat of car”. I was glad when I got back the headline in the Austin paper was “if we don’t do something about it in a few years the airport will be too small”.
Little town, little problems I guess.

After seeing the NM cop get attacked with that knife in that horrific video, I’d be shooting as soon as I saw a glimmer of steel. Tueller drill, yo.
