On January 10, 2024, U.S. District Judge Austin Huffaker denied Kenneth “Kenny” Smith’s challenge to Alabama’s intended use of nitrogen gas to execute him. Although Mr. Smith plans to appeal, the ruling currently authorizes Alabama to use its new, untested method of nitrogen hypoxia to execute Mr. Smith on January 25.
Mr. Smith’s case is unusual in several respects. First, he has already survived one execution attempt, which left him with post-traumatic stress disorder, according to a clinical psychologist and trauma expert who examined him. On November 17, 2022, the state tried and failed to execute Mr. Smith using lethal injection but abandoned its efforts after four hours when staff were unable to access a vein.

Doesn't look like its going to be untested for much longer.
Honestly, what could be more humane? You go to sleep and never wake up. There is no pain, which some death row inmates actually deserve.
Deprive the entity of O2.
“First, he has already survived one execution attempt”
This would not be an issue with a firing squad or a an old fashioned hanging.
Or drawn and quartered. Or burned at the stake. Or....
I once walked into a pressure vessel filled with nitrogen before the nitrogen was fully purged.
I was out like a light in seconds .
Probably the most humane way to execute a criminal.
Too humane
You can even re purpose a gas chamber
I don't think they should be using untested methods like this until they're first tested on criminals...
Helium makes for much funnier last words.
They should OD him on Nitrous Oxide.
Then he can laugh himself to death.
back to regularly scheduled programming
Add a comic touch.
Liquid Nitrogen Shower
Nitrogen Gas forms about 78% of Earth’s atmosphere
Bring back Old Sparky!
Couple of guys died on the job entering a non vented space when I was working on the shuttle program. Full of nitrogen.
Or a Gamma Ray Device. Instantaneous death of every cell in the body...............
I remember seeing a demonstration of the effects of the ‘Neutron Bomb’ back in the 70’s when it was in development (actually it already had been developed by that time) when Carter killed the program.
They had a Rhesus Monkey in a cage in front of a box about the size of a clothes dryer. There was a circular opening on the front of the box that was closed by means of a iris like a camera’s shutter.
The monkey was moving around on a limb in the cage doing what monkeys do just looking around like normal.
Then someone activated the shutter and it opened and closed just like a camera shutter in less that a second. There was a flash of light and the monkey fell over dead. No sound, no jerking, no pain because every cell in that monkey’s body was dead. ..................
This is darkly hilarious on many levels. It would make a great comedy skit - the incompetence of government, the bloated prog judicial bureaucracy, over-wrought social welfare bureaucrats, and of course, the man who can not be killed.
If anyone should have an existential crisis - its a murderer, on death row, who already survived one attempt at being executed.
I am so tired of lawyers.
Just my suggestion: an appetizer of nitrous oxygen would enable the perp to “leave ‘em laughing”.
