Your argument amounts to

Its OK that Democrats and government have spit on the Constitution and weaponized high tech surviellance against Americans - ‘cause Russia! and China!

Fools believe that some foreign boogeyman is going to enslave us, when it actually will be our own fellow Americans, using all the powers of big government, who will do it.

Where have you been the last 8 years?

Well you should know all about it, since your government in Moscow was on the receiving end - unless you rank so low that they did not tell you. Perhaps asking your superiors would enlighten you as to the truth of the mater.

Yes as I said he gave great detail to people who hate the US - our nominal enemies.

The American people like you are blissfully ignorant of the real damage he did. Just as you remain blissfully unaware of the fact that the information was in you local library for decades. Its been public knowledge that NSA collects every thing electronic since the 1950s - You also have a right to be totally ignorant of SGINT, ELINT, and HUMINT.

No one in Russia or China gives a damn about meta data from US phones - they have their own methods and means of collecting that data.

Note that Snowden was immediately (and cleverly) placed as a “Russian” agent in time for Russia Russia vs. Trump. And where oh where is Assange...today?

Snowden-Assange— the Seth Rich flash drives that proved the Clinton machine murdered Seth Rich— and lest we forget who took over the Seth Rich “case” per se— taking over from the shootout that happened on US Capitol grounds not long after the Rich murder, in which ballistics recovered linked rounds to the Rich murder in one of the full auto machine guns seized. The one and only Andrew McCabe (wife running for VA senate- funded by Clinton back man McAulliffe— $500K). McCabe took over that case, under hire by Clinton- to cover the Maryland ganger connection hitmen who took out Rich. And did not rob him of one thing. The flash drives made it to Assange. This is ALL known by the desperate lefties in Clinton land. They murdered this dreamer democrat outreach leader and made sure the Ukrainian server CrowdStrike was NEVER examined by the FBI. So much to try to keep in memory. And they hope we forget who is whom.

You follow one ridiculous comment, with another of the same ilk. Sorry. That's not an argument.

What the American people were blissfully ignorant of was the details of how the NSA spied on them—and continues to do so to this day.

There may have been a few nerds digging deep in the sub-sub-sub basement of Widener library or obscure corners of the Internet that put together the pieces of the “Puzzle Palace” but that information was not widely known.

The government declared war on the American people—Russia, Russia, Russia was a cover story.

One of Trump’s biggest mistakes. The deep state was going to continue to go after him anyway. Should have done an Assange/Snowden pardon combo.

I spent over 35 years in the government system and there are ways to move information and sources to get it to. I have moved some myself and am still walking around. And it happens far more than you might guess. You just don’t hear about it.

I can’t tell you how as many have to go through sources the public is not supposed to know about. But there are many that can do the work that are right out in the open.

Project On Government Oversight (POGO) - http://pogo.org
POGO is a nonpartisan, independent watchdog organization that promotes good government reforms by investigating and exposing corruption, misconduct, and conflicts of interest. POGO frequently works with government whistleblowers and other inside sources to document evidence of corruption, waste, fraud, and abuse.

Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) - https://peer.org
Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) is a national alliance of local, state, and federal government scientists, land managers, environmental law enforcement agents, field specialists, and other resource professionals committed to responsible management of America’s public resources. PEER provides advocacy and legal support to employees who speak up for environmental ethics and scientific integrity within their agency.

Taxpayers Against Fraud - https://taf.org
The Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund is a public interest non-profit dedicated to fighting fraud against the government by incentivizing integrity. Through public-private partnerships, TAFEF advances the effectiveness of the False Claims Act and federal whistleblower programs to promote and protect the efficient use of taxpayer dollars.

The Signals Network (TSN) - thesignalsnetwork.org
The Signals Network is a nonprofit organization that supports whistleblowers who have shared public interest information with the press and helps coordinate international media investigations that speak out against corporate misconduct and human rights abuses.

Whistleblower Aid - https://whistlebloweraid.org
Whistleblower Aid is a new non-profit legal organization that supports individuals who report government and corporate misconduct through legal channels, with a particular focus on whistleblowers whose disclosures involve national security and classified information.

Whistleblower and Source Protection Program (WHISPeR) -https://whisper.exposefacts.org
The Whistleblower and Source Protection Program (WHISPeR) at ExposeFacts provides legal support for whistleblowers and media sources in the national security and human rights arena. Their model encompasses affordable legal protection, public advocacy, investigative journalism, and the latest in encryption technology.

Whistleblowers of America (WoA) – https://whistleblowersofamerica.org
Whistleblowers of America (WoA) is a nonprofit organization assisting whistleblowers who have suffered retaliation after having identified harm to individuals or the public. It provides education and training, peer to peer support, mediation services, and engages the media in a public advocacy campaign on behalf of whistleblowers and watchdogs.

There’s more. But using agencies like this and not running to a foreign country and becoming a citizen is not the common way of doing it and does put you in line for covert action. But if your name is in these organizations, and some inside the fed system itself, and it is public, what are they going to do, take away his birthday. They certainly aren’t going to kill you. Way too public.

“What court could he have gone to?

That doesn’t mean anything to him. He’s not law unforcement, he’s a witness.

“What “whistleblower” protection would he have survived?”

This question I don’t totally understand. If he goes public with any one of a number of organizations that are created to determine the problem, and he is wrong, then he’s wrong and it will be corrected. And if it was an intentional effort to get someone it might be discipline. But you don’t kill a public figure as a witness right out in the open.

“What deep-state Senator would have taken up his cause?”

Don’t need one. The Office of Special Counsel is an investigative and prosecutorial office that works to end government and political corruption, and to protect government employees and whistleblowers. That is where he should have gone.

Yep, I remember Trump was ahead 21 points in Georgia then late at night every vote was for Biden.

Plus you have to ask, why did Biden barely campaign? The same with Hillary. Both of them rarely gave interviews, rarely held rallies, why?

To it’s because they knew the election would be fixed only with Hillary Trump got enough votes to overcome the fraud.

With Biden they went over the top with fake ballots just to make sure which is why he got the ridiculous number of 81 million.

And yet, they only had to produce a miniscule 313,253 votes spread over 6 states ...

Well said, you left out he used Chinese exfiltration channels. All in all a very successful joint intelligence operation by the Russian & Chinese Intel services. (The enemy of my enemy is my friend for now!) Their “cover for action” was and still is brilliant, he did it for moral reasons - he’s a hero!.

Let’s compare the morality of these two examples to Snowden’s actions. Lt Col Anthony Larkin MD refused deployment to Afghanistan because he didn’t think Obama was Constitutionally the president. He didn’t run to the protection of a foreign power to voice his protest he faced the consequences of his actions. Second example Cynthia O Miller - CIA analyst who leaked to the NY Times that CIA had terrorist jailing centers overseas. She thought it was immoral and it went against her personal beliefs. CIA fired her and threatened her with prosecution. I don’t think they ever did. Notice she also didn’t run to a foreign power to voice her moral concerns, she faced the consequences. Where does Snowden stack up morally compared to those two?

The reasons some on this site and others prefer Snowden the hero is he fits their biases not because any objective moral standard. He gave away a lot more than they know or even Tucker Carson or Congressman Massie knows. The Snowden hero grift fits their biases too! (Massie’s never served on the House Intel committee, so his knowledge would not be “in depth”. Normally, I kind of like the guy, but he’s dead wrong here! Note he’s been dead wrong on a couple of other things too but particularly wrong here!) Chinese & Russian Intel services make you pay for your room and board. Now Snowden’s a Russian citizen and does interviews. The Intel operation is now a Influence Operation and it seems to be working. It’s brilliant simply brilliant!

I also should have used as a more recent example of taking a moral stand and facing the consequences. All the men & women in the armed forces who accepted termination even threats of court martial over taking the COVID vaccines. Did any of them run to a foreign power? I can’t think of any!
