Axelrod doubles down on criticism after Biden reportedly calls him 'pr---': 'Thinks he can cheat nature'

Former Obama adviser David Axelrod doubled down after President Biden reportedly called him a "pr---" and argued that the president has a "real problem" if he thinks he can "cheat nature."

New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd defended Axelrod in a column published on Sunday, criticizing Biden for engaging in "petty feuds."

"I don’t care about them thinking I’m a prick — that’s fine," Axelrod told Dowd. "I hope they don’t think the polls are wrong, because they’re not."

Axelrod, who Dowd noted has defended Biden in the past, told Dowd that Biden thinks he can "cheat nature," drawing a comparison to Hillary Clinton.

"I think he has a 50-50 shot here, but no better than that, maybe a little worse," Axelrod said. "He thinks he can cheat nature here and it’s really risky. They’ve got a real problem if they’re counting on Trump to win it for them. I remember Hillary doing that, too."

Politico columnist Jonathan Martin wrote in early November that Biden called Axelrod a "pr---" in private.

"The president’s flash of anger indicates that he may be in denial, surrounded by enablers who are sugarcoating a grim political forecast," Dowd wrote.

Dowd said the president shouldn't have a "chip on his shoulder," and noted Axelrod received a ton of messages from others who agreed with his assessment of the latest polling.

I think that rule had some relevance back in the day.

Post a picture of Douglas now. Looks like death warmed over.

You’re looking at Mike Douglas? You must be a female FReeper. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

My sources at the White House tell me Biden got confused, and thought Axelrod was a pregnant woman. Hence the “prego”.

Axelrod really should have talked to my sources before jumping to conclusions.

Axelrod would not even say the word ‘Up’ unless Obama had already said the word “Down”.
They’ve always worked in this Good Cop/ Bad Cop duality.
Obama can keep pretending to be a Man of Peace.

RE: the president shouldn’t have a “chip on his shoulder”

No, some would say it should be in his head.

“Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain implant company, has won approval from the Food and Drug Administration to start testing its device in humans.”

A separate unit sits behind the ear, with wires running directly into the wearer’s brain.

Musk reportedly urged the team to speed up progress in the wake of a breakthrough by rival Synchron, one of whose patients sent a message on X, formerly known as Twitter, using only his mind earlier this year.

The Democrats’ problem is Biden is by far their most popular candidate.

Gavin Newsom does not sell outside of California. Sure they can hold on in the Northeast and Left Coast but he doesn’t sell in the Midwest or South.

Even Blacks are not going to vote for Buttplug. They’ve made that clear.

EVERYBODY hates heels up Harris. Black Men hate her with a burning passion and lots of women otherwise sympathetic to Democrats hate her too.

They have nobody else to run who appeals to anybody....and don’t say Big Mike. He hates politics and has utterly no charisma whatsoever.

Ironic (in my little world, anyway) is the fact that from when I first saw him as brocko’s version of P. Begala, I dubbed him Axelprick.

So for a daily double, you might want to run David Axelprick along with with David Pecker?

The lovely Michelle Obama has three powerful things going for her: She’s a female (allegedly). She’s black. And like Biden, she’s got very wide name recognition.

But she’s lazy. And she hates politics, as you mentioned. So the DNC will have to convince her to run.

“You’re the only candidate who can stop that evil racist Trump! Don’t worry. We’ll handle the election, and all the governing. You’ll only have to sign a few papers now and then. Just like with Biden now.”

So, yeah. She’ll run.

Biden Keeps Talking About the Old Days. Young Voters Don’t Like It.
Biden turns 81 on Monday, and is losing support from millennials and Gen Z
By Catherine Lucey, WSJ, Nov. 19, 2023

As Biden marks his 81st birthday Monday and seeks re-election, his incessant stories about people who have died and faded from public view appear out of date to younger audiences. There are more than 60 years separating Biden from voters who will cast their first ballots in 2024, an acute age gap that presents a challenge for the oldest president in U.S. history.

The fact that he continues to reference politicians that Gen Z may not relate to definitely puts him out of touch. Youth voting increased significantly in 2020. Among voters ages 18 to 29, Biden beat former President Donald Trump by 24 percentage points.

Biden’s team counters that the president’s “old-time references” are part of a “folksy style” that is an authentic asset, and they say newer generations connect to his wisdom and experience.

Biden, who would be 86 years old at the end of a second term should he win, has long employed a “greatest-hits” stories, including admonitions from his late parents and grandparents. The nostalgic tales can feel like an unnerving turn through 5th grade dog-eared history books.

Biden also talks of his dealings with long gone segregationist senators like Strom Thurmond of South Carolina and James Eastland of Mississippi.

Biden says when his first wife and daughter were killed in an automobile crash in 1972, shortly after his first Senate victory, he was supported by a group of older, and now deceased, senators such as then-Majority Leader Mike Mansfield of Montana, Thomas Eagleton of Missouri and Fritz Hollings of South Carolina.

Republicans have consistently sought to portray Biden as old and out of touch. Trump has mocked Biden’s age and abilities while the Republican National Committee, in an account on X, formerly known as Twitter, recently declared Biden was “not playing with a full deck.”

Other times, Biden signals older cultural touchpoints. During the same Vietnam news conference in September, he referred to a John Wayne Western film as a way of refuting skeptics of climate change.

Of all the stupid things Biden has done, invoking wartime powers to force make Americans to use inefficient electric heat pumps instead of gas furnaces, unless the Biden goal is to “cull the herd” or kill off Americans during winter months:
<><> Biden invoking wartime powers for things unrelated to national defense is reckless and capricious.
<><>electric heat pumps in the colder areas of the country is unworkable.

Biden using “special wartime powers” shows you where this refugee from the Cold War is coming from.
<><>To over-the-hill Biden, a 50 year product of legislating a wartime govt, wars are essential,
<><> wars are a Rooseveltian way to boost his presidency
<><> wars are the MO to continue the flow of tax dollars to the Biden Crime Family.

Biden’s funding nine manufacturing projects with $169 million he snagged from last year’s climate bill, is being claimed under the “emergency authority of the 40’s era Cold War Defense Production Act (DPA).

I’m surprised Biden had a moment of lucidity to call Axelrod that name.

Then back to the ice cream and sniffing the nurse.

I thought so too but timing isn’t on their side anymore. Or maybe there is a star studded campaign all ready to go.

I wonder if the Uni Party has decided since nothing is working, and everything they try only raises Trump polling, that they allow Trump to throttle Biden and go underground for the next 4 years to repair and rebuild.
