Are EV's a scam?! Ford CEO just abandoned electric cars, leaving the entire auto industry SHOCKED and CONFUSED! Ford is losing nearly 36,000 dollars on each EV they built, and could now close their doors forever! Why?
Because customers are REJECTING Ford’s EVs! With nearly 92,000 EVs sitting unsold on dealer lots, scammy dealer markups to fool the middle class, and 35,000 vehicle recalls just a couple of weeks ago, Ford is in a huge crisis!
“pretty much everyone was laid off.”
That is a little different than all were fired.
My fam fortunately survived driving a Pinto hatchback for 8 years [~200,000 miles].
[As well as driving no shortage in miles in numerous vehicles in the numerous decades after.]
YMMV. [totally true]
Im still a huge fan of the F-150. Bought an F-150 STX 3.5 DT, love it. All-aluminum works for me as I don’t do a lot of rough hauling, lighter and has a ton of power.
I’ve been laid off. It’s exactly the same as being fired.
“It’s a manual...”
I have two good, used Pinto m/ts in the basement that have needed to go to the recycle yard for >30 years.
Get them quick as they are not being moved to the new compound.

Getting forced into early retirement is better, but not all that much.

We survived a VW and Corvair.
Been without my Ford Fiesta for seven weeks - awaiting a replacement part.
“All-aluminum works for me”
Hail beats the cr@p out of the Al body.
[~$19k for hail damage in 3 of 4 years to date.]
[I need to build a hail shelter to shield stuff that doesn’t fit in the garage]
I also survived a Bug [~200k].
Along with everything else to date.
Does knocking on wood help?
“I’ve been laid off. It’s exactly the same as being fired.”
Nope. I was laid off. Severance pay, insurance and access to company HR. Rehire if I could find another opening.
Also, unemployment benefits may be affected.

So far, so good.
A dual turbo, electronic controlled 3.5l works GREAT at 4,000 ft. of altitude.
Without a headwind it even gets decent F.E.
“Bug”
We had a big oak next to the driveway. My father and I could rig the hoist, replace the main bearings and have it running in an afternoon.
That was before the external oil coolers.
Yea, in exchange for the wonderful few months of severance you’re forced to sign a one year non compete wher you can’t do anything with the 20 years of expertise you developed.
Your health care is cut that day.
Not really sure how tact’s much different.
“Yea, in exchange for the wonderful few months of severance you’re forced to sign a one year non compete wher you can’t do anything with the 20 years of expertise you developed.”
I signed nothing.
“Your health care is cut that day.”
No. My health care was covered during the severence period. I then went on their Cobra plan.

Also, when I was rehired, they reinstated my seniority status as it affected vacation time and other benefits.
I was in Ventura in Aug, such a lovely place!
