Sen. Bob Menendez’s wife, indicted alongside him last month in a sprawling corruption case, was on the payroll of a medical lab that drew down more than $10 million in federal COVID-19 funding—a company, like the firms at the center of the federal charges, with ties to Egypt.
Nadine Arslanian Menendez faces allegations that she received bribe payments from multiple New Jersey businessmen to influence her husband on behalf of the regime of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, among other crimes. The Justice Department alleges that some illicit payments flowed to Strategic International Business Consultants, a limited liability company she reportedly established for this purpose.

Allegations are that New Jersey Democrat, Sen Robert Menendez, his wife Nadine Menendez........ and NJ businessman Wael Hana, originally from Egypt......... conspired for Democrat Menendez to act as a foreign agent from January 2018 through at least June 2022 for the Egyptian government and Egyptian officials.
Democrat Menendez chaired the US Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee from 2013 to 2015, and again from 2021 to 2023.
Bob Menendez has had some questionable dealings in the past, but always managed to shrug them off or evade any real examination of his involvement. This time, though, this is so egregious, so massive, that the relatively simple responses in the past may not apply at all, and the bill is about to be settled with some degree of assignment of culpability.
Pinned to the wall, he may not be able to crawl off the pin this time.

Still, the federal indictment of the Menendezs does not mention the Fusion job, and as of this writing, prosecutors have not alleged any wrongdoing at the lab.
What’s more, the personal Facebook page of Fusion CEO and co-owner Moataz Abdalla reveals him to be an ardent and abiding supporter of Sisi’s government—while the company’s LinkedIn reveals that a substantial portion of its staff is based in his home city of Alexandria, Egypt’s ancient port on the Mediterranean.
Business filings further show that one of Abdalla’s former co-owners in Fusion is a New Jersey anesthesiologist trained at the Alexandria Faculty of Medicine and who has a relationship with a Cairo hospital.
Democrat Menendez’s disclosures do not provide his wife’s title at Fusion, the start or end dates of her employment, or an exact figure for her compensation, but show only that the firm paid her a salary exceeding $1,000.
Representatives for the indicted couple did not respond to repeated queries from The Daily Beast WRT how Mrs Menendez learned of the position’s availability, what kind of application and interview process she went through, or what specific projects and responsibilities she handled there.
Arslanian Menendez’s only prior experience in the medical sector The Daily Beast could confirm was as an unpaid volunteer on the children’s health advisory committee of a New Jersey hospital.
Abdalla would not answer journo questions as to where he publicly posted the job opening, how many candidates he considered for the role, or whether he or any of his associates had at any point been in touch with federal law enforcement.
The businessman told the Wall Street Journal.... prior to the indictment..... that Arslanian Menendez had worked in “sales and marketing,” and would only respond to journos with blanket denials of wrongdoing.

Fusion analyzed blood samples, depended on physician referrals, and billed the patient’s insurance company. In 2014, Abdalla and Dr. Ahmed built an account base, updated their technology, and trained qualified staff. To serve clients even when it was unable to perform the work, Fusion began referring tests to a third-party laboratory. Fusion then provided the report from the outside laboratory to the referring physician. The deep state gets what it wants when corrupt politicians are their financiers. FBI wants new headquarters? State department doesn’t want a budget with specified funding? Democrat cities want DHS funds meant for border enforcement? It’s just a simple way bureaucrats can operate outside the constitution. Compromised politicians.
The vast majority of them shrug off highly questionable behavior with nothing more than a pat on the head. There needs to be a huge house cleaning but it’ll never happen.
