Peas never bothered me as a kid, I always cleaned my plate, even with brussel sprouts for that.

Cauliflower yuck.

Mods pull at your discretion.

Cauliflower can be quite good if prepared properly. Mashed cauliflower and cauliflower “rice” is quite good. Need some butter.

Once you put enough butter on them for them to be edible they aren’t that healthy anymore.

I eat my peas with honey,

I’ve done so all my life.

It makes them taste so funny,

but keeps them on the knife.

I tolerate peas but my heart belongs to chocolate — the queen of vegetables. (King being coffee.)

I love peas, especially with a good Tuna Casserole. The mushy ones in England not so much. Whoever decided to serve Fish n Chips with Mushy Peas should be shot. Fish n Chips goes with Cole Slaw n hush puppies.

I was a daily cold-can-of-peas consumer for decades.

Then, about five years ago, the quality started going down, for every brand, so I guess it is a national problem.

I like a trace of salt and sugar in every bite. I also like my peas to have soft exterior skin, and a mushy and moist interior.

Today, every brand of canned peas has almost no salt or sugar, the pea shell is thick and firm, and the interior is dense, dry, and tasteless.

I have moved on to green beans, which are a distant second place to good peas, but the same price, and still edible.

Mashed cauliflower is my favorite. I make it with cream cheese and butter. You can add gravy, too.

LOVE peas. But, my favorite are field peas (white acre peas). Also a big fan of lima beans.

Outdated thinking. With a diet of healthy foods, proportions, and percentages, it almost impossible to eat too much butter.
