So as a blob of gold it’s probably worth 10’s of thousands of dollars to the finder but as a priceless artifact it’s worth zero.

My kid bought one and the first time he used it he found a 1812 Large copper penny across the street by a stone wall. Never saw one before,about the size of a half dollar. Since then he has found many rings,jewelry,coins,watches etc. good hobby to get into.
