'Blind Side' Tuohy family members push back against NFL star Michael Oher's claims

Sean Tuohy, Jr. whose family was the subject of the hit film "The Blind Side," is responding...

...Tuohy said Oher sent messages to family group texts in 2020 and 2021 with statements such as "'If you guys give me this much, then I won’t go public..."

...Sean Tuohy, Sr. also responded Monday...that the family contacted lawyers at the time "who had told us that we couldn’t adopt over the age of 18," and "The only thing we could do was to have a conservatorship."

The elder Tuohy also said that everyone "got an equal share, including Michael" in the profits from "The Blind Side."

Their responses come after court records filed by Oher state that Oher's adoption was a "lie" and that "Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy have enriched themselves" at Oher's "expense."

Yep - I wouldn’t be surprised if this was orchestrated by the left and that he was contacted by someone who needed a racist story front and center to stir the masses.

I'm very curious about how much money is on the table.

The movie grossed $309M.
The movie is based on the book written by Michael Lewis.
Tim McGraw and Sandra Bullock got paid -- they were the stars.
The subjects of the movie? How much would they have to be paid? I would not expect it to be a whole lot of money. The actors, the author, the studio -- they all made bigger contributions to the actual making of the movie.

Oher was in the NFL for 9 years and earned a total of $34M.
Some reports say his current net worth is $16M.
The Tuohy's are business people (always have been) and may have a net worth of $75M. That's not from the movie. That's from their businesses.

It doesn't seem like anyone here needs money or that anyone here got a lot from the film.

It seems weird and vindictive.

My wife read someplace that each family member was paid about 40g. The person who wrote the book was paid very well. Mr Touy said things started going sour about 18 months ago, which is the exact time Michael started dating, or got married, to his baby mama. I’m thinking she put him up to this. Same thing happened to Kap. Started dating, or married, that woman who belongs to the ROP and the next thing you know... BTW the Touy’s are loaded. I mean, like 100mil loaded because of all the franchises and her business. 40g isn’t anything to holler about with that family. Michael has about 16mil.

In 2023 America, this is a real possibility.

Even after earning millions in the NFL, Oher is probably broke and needing money, so he is a willing pawn for the race baiters.

I wonder where Michael Lewis is in this. He should have an opinion or mediation role. He profited too and he did a public service writing the book which was great.

My guess is the next ‘Michael Oher’ that sprouts up somewhere is going to be left in the field. I know I would look at the current vilification of the Tuohy family by Oher and think to myself, “ Oh Hell No.”
But I can only assume that gratitude is not part of the nature of at least one demographic, especially in the United States.

The family got a fairly miniscule share, somewhere just a little more than a million. Each member received about $225,000 or so.

TTouhy is a very good business man and he probably received what he thought was the most that he could get for the story. The movie outperformed expectations by a wide mile.

“It’s not the truth that matters but the seriousness of the charge” Reparations can take many firms just as long as money flows from Whitey to peoples of color that’s all that matters.

I thought the story was insane.
Hey look, a huge black male eating from a trash can, let’s bring him home around our children.
Some people are just dumb.

Look up Max Kellerman’s brother’s story.

Yep! It makes me crazy that an ex-pro that was paid in excess of $34,000,000.00 over his career, is carping about a few thousand that was paid for a movie.

This family opened their home to this guy, and whether Hollywood embellished the story line or not, they did help him when he needed it, and after he makes {and probably blows} millions of dollars, he is now grubbing for a few thousand.

What a nagger.

The movie wasn’t intended to be an exact depiction of the real life facts. They’re trying to portray that the family claimed to have adopted him, but only for their own benefit. So they planned on making a movie? Michael had a great NFL career that, most likely, wouldn’t have happened otherwise.

External forces at work here...along with the media that’ll take any opportunity to bash Christians.

One thing it will do. Certainly now white couples will be less inclined to want to adopt black babies.

Seems to me he didn’t learn much in his ‘high school’ and ‘college’ academic careers.

Rather than pooping all over the historical narrative that place him in such a positive place, now that he’s retired, he SHOULD HAVE gone with the more sensible position.

Instead of blackmail (no pun intended), he should have gone with the ‘underprivileged kids foundation’ angle. Endless opportunities to fleece guilty whities and have all the living expenses paid for in perpetuity - like all the powerful whities do!
