The US Women's soccer team once again hit the headlines at the World Cup as they remained silent during the playing of The Star-Spangled Banner ahead of their match against Portugal.
The defending champions were accused of disrespect ahead of their 2023 World Cup opener against Vietnam when six of 11 US players stayed silent and did not put their hands over their hearts during the anthem.

They are not a US women’s soccer team, they are a bunch of bitter shrews, harridans to be ignored.
They were just awful, out of shape, not team players. I guess they spent too much time doing woke TV instead of practicing.
How I wish they would get a huge dose of karma and get beaten by a team of trannies.
So what, it’s only soccer.
And women’s soccer ar that.
They have a right to disrespect our country and flag. And we have a right to ignore them. They are nothing to me.
They lose all the time to high school boys or retire old men. The team is a joke.
Nothing is better than kicking back with a Bud Light and watching women’s soccer..... so NO man ever.
I hope they lose....and it costs them a BIG paycheck.

So, do you have to sing the Anthem? Many people stand respectfully with their hand over their hearts or just at attention.
Most of the players did not put their hands over their hearts during the anthem. It's passive rebellion.
Time to pull their funding.
I thought they were supposed to be not sitting or taking a knee and standing at attention (or as close to as civilians can) with maybe hand over heart? When did singing become a requirement? We didn’t have to do that, and didn’t, in the military.
I have no respect for this team of angry witches who got their pay increased in spite of the fact that they don’t draw in the crowds like the male team does.
They don’t want equality. They want superiority.

The so called US Team is the Bud Light of soccer teams.
Who really watches women’s sports other than parents of athletes? In other words, no one cares about them. Just ignore them like a 2-year old having a tantrum. Attention only feeds the problem.
Why is this an issue?! We’ve seen what these people, who are supposed to represent this country on a worldwide level, have acted before. Does it upset me? Yes. This has been my moral dilemma since I served in the military (1984-2016) and to today. Fighting for the rights of the ungrateful, who turn around and spit on those who sacrificed so much, so they can be as ungrateful as they want.

I’m still trying to figure out how this is even newsworthy. Did they openly disrespect the nation they are supposed to represent, or did they just stand silently? I’ve watched international sports for years, and I never really cared — or even noticed — if the athletes actually sang their national anthems before events.
