Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is part of a bipartisan group of senators who have offered an amendment to the annual Defense authorization bill requiring the federal government to collect and make public records related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
The proposed amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act would direct the National Archives and Records Administration to create a collection of records on UAPs and UFOs to be disclosed to the public immediately unless a review board provides reasons to keep them classified.

The lawmakers say “the sheer number and variety” of stories about UFOs have led some of them and their colleagues to believe the executive branch may be concealing information about possible visits from extra-planetary civilizations.
[...]
The push to declassify more information about UAPs and UFOs comes after Air Force veteran David Grusch, a former member of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, told NewsNation that the U.S. government has recovered non-human craft for decades
Grusch implied in the interview that the government has recovered more than spacecraft materials.
“Well, naturally, when you recover something that’s either landed or crashed, sometimes you encounter dead pilots and believe it or not, as fantastical as that sounds, it’s true,” he said in the NewsNation interview.

The amendment is modeled on the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992 which required the public disclosure of documents related to former President Kennedy’s assassination 25 years after its enactment.
The Schumer-Rounds amendment would give the federal government eminent domain over any recovered technologies of unknown origin or biological evidence of nonhuman intelligence now held by private individuals or organizations.

The Schumer-Rounds amendment would give the federal government eminent domain over any recovered technologies of unknown origin or biological evidence of nonhuman intelligence now held by private individuals or organizations.
This is a mistake as probably most of them are from secret projects.
It would be so heavily redacted as to be useless.
I wish we’d focus more on human illegal aliens than the Martian variety.
Nobody said they had to go public. The idea is place control back into the hands of elected representatives.
But it does give the government the right to take ownership by eminent domain of any technology currently held by independent contractors that came from non-human sources.
I wonder what Lockheed-Martin, Raytheon, and the thousands of little shell companies think of that.
And the deep state will do it, lying, saying “O.K.” here’s what we have”, while keeping the deepest stuff secret from the elected government.
“would give the federal government eminent domain over any recovered technologies”
Most of that stuff is already off-planet.
The “federal government” has no authority there....actually out of the country is probably good enough....
We all know mankind couldn’t have come up with electronics, mechanical instruments, heck, even the wheel, if it wasn’t for aliens coming down here in UFOs.
When you see the standard Democrat on Welfare, you will have to agree.
And that intelligence would notice immediately we're an aggressive little species that wages near continuous warfare on itself and that we have unlocked the secret of the atom and have used nuclear weapons offensively. Said intelligence would most logically avoid this corner of the universe.
If you tell a politician anything juicy you can bet he’ll say it every chance he gets.
Do you see that as a good reason to govern outside of elected officials?
“The Schumer-Rounds amendment would give the federal government eminent domain over any recovered technologies of unknown origin or biological evidence of nonhuman intelligence now held by private individuals or organizations.”
They’ll rob you and give it to their DOD friends who will then give it to the defense contractors.
“The Schumer-Rounds amendment would give the federal government eminent domain over any recovered technologies of unknown origin or biological evidence of nonhuman intelligence now held by private individuals or organizations.”
Therein lies the reason for this.
That said, someone said the magic word when it comes to non-human intelligence and biological entities.
Money!!!Schumer finally figured out that this stuff, if it exists, is worth an unlimited source of funds. And it appears the DOD and private contractors have had it all smuggled away from Congress's grubby paws.
Schumer and team think the DOD gave it to contractors to place it out of the reach of Congress.
Exactly right. This is either a huge coincidence (and I rarely believe in coincidences) or someone finally figured out how to get the Senate interested.
I do believe that is exactly what happened.
The Heavens Gate cult controls the technology now, the government can’t have it.
