This pizza came in hot.
A Texas woman shared the shocking moment a pizza deliveryman cursed her out over the $5 tip she gave him for an order she said cost just $20.
Lacey Purcival posted the video on TikTok, showing a DoorDash driver she identified as Corey delivering dinner to her home.
The deliveryman can be seen ringing the doorbell, and Purcival opening the door and greeting him.
After nearly dropping the pizza as he pulled it out of its sleeve, Corey handed over the pie as Purcival thanked him enthusiastically.

An alert pops up with the amount you will make for the delivery, and you have to agree to it on the screen - it’s not just assigned. The longer the drive, the more you make.
It’s not like being a server, where you have to wonder if you’ll make anything.
He wanted half ownership of that nice house. Poor people I have run into resent that I am not poor. Because they are ignorant how hard I worked to get 2 degrees in engineering, supporting my expenses with part time job washing dirty kitchen utensils in university hospital. Then I worked on 2 job for 15 years putting in 65 hours of work every week.
Of course poor people do not give a rats azz about that. They simply resent that someone has more money than them, and want government to make us all equal by taxing me more and giving them free money.
“For future reference, is there some sort of minimum expectation tip amount for door dash?”
Yes. Tip on the cost of the meal and not against every other expense added to the bill.
Driver is a classist douchebag.
I’d bet money he’s delivering in a car his parents bought for him...
0%. The contract specifies a delivery fee in return for an expectation of delivery. If the driver accepts the order then they can expect to make their cut. Any participation trophy for upholding their end of the contract is up to your digression.
This guy is lucky he got $5.00! My daughter used to deliver for Door Dash and half the time she got nothing. Just another Karen...
Driver may be inferior in math
I don’t think I would ever use this service or any service such as this.
My Wife and I were out Monday doing some shopping and around 17:30 as We drove to the next stop She pointed out a Mexican Restaurant and said that she and the youngest Daughter ate there a while back and it was good. I asked if She wanted to stop there and eat ? She did, so We go in and get a table. They’re getting busy and the waitress says that to Us. ( I’m thinking, really !!! at 17:30 ?! I worked Food Service years ago.)
So We ordered and the Waitress goes off to put in the order. She comes back with our drinks and again says they’re busy. She walks by a few minutes later and stops and says it AGAIN and she’s going to check on the order. Then when she returns with the order and AGAIN, says we’re busy. And walks away. She repeated that 2 more times. That’s a total of 6 times We’ve heard this in 30 minutes. She comes back with the Check and proceeds to say it AGAIN !!! (Now 7 times.)
I’m looking over the Check and she’s just standing there. I get to the bottomjn of the Check and there’s a box with precalculated Tip suggestions. They start at 20% then 22% and 25%. Now I’m one that has already have 15% calculated in My head. And that’s what I Tipped her.
I got a dirty look from her. I won’t go back to that Restaurant. The service wasn’t that impressive and I don’t think the food was that good, IMO.
I want to know when the Server started to make the call as to the amount of the Tip ? It was never that way when I was in the business.
Door Dash will suggest a tip amount based on distance, but the tip is left up to you.
This driver is basing his tips on the customer’s property, but people can have a nice house and very little money to spend. Maybe his customers should base their tips on the kind of vehicle he drives. It had better look like a clunker, or he’ll have to find another occupation pronto.
He should be glad he wasn’t bitten by her ferocious dog.
Door Dash for Pizza?
The Pizza joints don’t have their own delivery drivers in Texas?
I worked at skilled jobs for many years, wasn’t paid all that well for the experience, rarely ever got raises, & certainly was not routinely tipped in the manner this guy expected..when I even got a tip.
One would hope.
I tip well, but am way too cheap to have food delivered.
20% is the norm. He’s lucky to have gotten that. Also, nice house doesn’t mean the family isn’t struggling.
It could have been that the kitchen was understaffed and she knew it’d be slow.
That said, when this is pointed out to me, I don’t think it is my problem. Either the service is good or it isn’t. I shouldn’t have to be understanding of every possible challenge that *might* be the cause of poor service. Bad service is bad service and my tip will reflect that. It’ll also reflect great service with a great tip when there’s obvious challenges that the server is handling with class and hustle.
