Great, another solution to a problem that doesn’t exist.

When cartoons become adult science, who would have ever thought? In that case, we could just use Upsidasium to move the Earth to a new orbit. After all, the world's entire supply is located in Miinesota.

Not wacky. Insane. Energy is not free. The energy required to do this is much more than humans have available to them. Dream on, “scientists”!
The idea is insane and irresponsible.

Instead of speeding up the earth, I want to slow it down.
So, I can get off.

Oh no we’re all dead ... oh wait ... it said a billion years ... I thought it was a million years ... relax

Exactly right. The only solution is to move Earth to a different solar system.

—let’s straighten it out on its axisso we aren’t bothered by seasons and blow the moon up, so we have rigs like Saturn—both ideas of which came out of academia some years ago-

Believers in “global warming” are part of a messianic, doomsday cult. They are ready to kill us all just like the Aztecs ripped out victims’ hearts to feed their creepy, demon gods.

It would be cheaper and simpler to move humans to Mars.

If you move the Earth, won’t gravity snap it back to its previous position? No. That's the point in speeding up which would raise the orbit just like satellites.
I do wonder what kind of chaos would ensue in the effect on the other planets, though.

While I applaud the effort to consider the kind of world we’ll leave behind for Keith Richards, isn’t there a balance between the centripetal forces of gravity and centrifugal forces of the orbit that have nothing to do with the earth’s rotation?
