MrT5 loved Thai and Vietnamese fish sauce-I got it for him at the oriental market in Kerrville every time I went there-I have never tasted the stuff-I would almost gag just from the smell of it-even worse than kimchee...

I was once introduced to a condiment popular in Singapore. To me it smelled (and looked) like vomit. And once made the mistake of choosing Filipino versus western style fish soup. Lifted the lid off the bowl and ... whew! No problem with durian fruit, and love kimchee (wife can’t stand it) but I understand where you’re coming from.
