Blah blah blah
OK, not that we need it, but I will ask: How does this, in principle at least, oppose and exclude support for the Biblical account, if the water-rich mantle plumes can migrate upwards and break through the boundary to the upper mantle, so that water contained in the mantle plumes is released?
Please re-read my post.
Overwrought interpretations of half-understood scientific papers providing weak support for or at least not outright opposing established Biblical doctrines are of little to no use...
I am saying that an article which seems to slightly support the Bible, or which - at best - doesn't contradict it, should be given only minimal attention.
It's not Earth-shaking. And it encourages a certain mode of thinking that can lead down dark paths.
Understand now?
Regards,
Your pardon, Big Red Badger. I "used" your posting to illustrate my point to daniel1212. Perhaps that was a breach of etiquette.
My point - and, yes: perhaps it is my pet peeve - is that it is intellectually dangerous to adopt the mindset of "Oh, here's a poorly-written and biased article written by some hack with a hidden agenda, citing some other article, about some scientific "discovery" that supposedly bolsters the Bible."
It fosters the mindset of "The Bible needs bolstering." And this same tactic can also be used to attack faith, by digging up some factoid that apparently disproves the Bible. If you accept the support, you must also accept the undermining, if you wish to remain intellectually honest and consistent.
Lastly - and I hesitate to say this because some of you might take offense - I sincerely doubt that anyone here is truly capable of understanding the actual science here and especially perceiving its irrelevancy.
Regards,
I get you and thanks

I live in a BUMPER STICKER mentality.
What counts as a 'historical' record?
Possibly true, but when some 'actual science' is finally revealed; I'll look at it in a bit more detail.
Only trucks have ‘bumpers’ any more.
Cars have ‘fascia panels’.

In the context of this discussion, information recorded outside of the bible's reference to it.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
To the contrary,
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
That's my belief.
In the end, we will see who's right - and who's wrong.
Until then...
"Regards,"
Then my 4th grade teacher lied to us. And I’ve been there many times. Hmmm, same teacher also told me Pluto was a planet.
HA
Thanks. Better write up than the article from MSN: https://scitechdaily.com/an-underground-ocean-scientists-discover-water-deep-within-earth/
And don't you DARE doubt it!
