Hansen’s critics claim that his work in revealing the ancient history of the region will increase archaeological tourism.
Mmmmmm....k
Do you insist on being historically irrelevant?
Should the Maya and Aztec peoples remain invisible and the explanation of disappearance never be discovered?
The Mayan cities were abandoned after wars and droughts.
The land wasn’t stolen, the civilization wasn’t destroyed by foreigners ... the Mayan people essentially just walked away.
Did the protesters have it long enough to install back doors/porn/top secret files/or?
Stolen land? Don’t make me laugh. The great archeological revival in the Peten began in the nineteen sixties when there was literally no one in the region. The era of the chicle hunter was over. The capital was nothing to speak of, and the single hotel was skid row quality. There was no real road into Belize, or up into Mexico’s Quntana Roo. The road from Coban, Guatemala to the north was a path. The single airstrip was serviced by an antiquated DC-3. Archeologists did the one thing that most would have thought impossible. It made the place interesting. Stolen land? The usual leftist garbage!
This is at least the second article this week where journalists have no clue of the meaning of the expression, "bum's rush". It means to be unceremoniously thrown out of a business, stereotypically by the collar and the back waistband. An example would be George Baily and Clarence being thrown out of the bar by Nick in "It's A Wonderful Life": "That's it! Out you two pixies go, through the door or out the window!"
“Follow the Science”
Unless of course it’s reproductive biology or archeology.
