Family sounds full of drama and hysteria. They do not tell the hospital how to operate when it comes to where alarms sound. They should not be touching the equipment. They rejected standard medical treatment so why take her to the hospital?

Sounds like they are refusing to accept responsibility for their role in the daughter’s death from covid19.

The only thing I am interested in is whether there was a DNR order. It’s also not clear why the sister was the patient advocate and if it was the facility or the parents objecting.

Well it says there was a way to make the alarms sound only in the nurse’s office. I could see it would keep her up all night. I’ve been in a hospital and one can’t sleep because machines are going off every five minutes.

Where I work and live.......I don't think Doctors can do this.

The family shared that as she “slipped into acute respiratory failure and Grace’s sister begged for help, instead of starting CPR immediately, the nurses refused,” since Grace’s doctor had unilaterally labeled her as a “Do Not Resuscitate” (DNR), despite lack of written consent from her family.

Several things going on here. None of them put the hospital personnel in a positive light.

I dealt with our hospital on the covid crap in February 2022. I’m not going into it, but if covid was involved here - which it was, I’ll give you 100 to 1 the blame lies on the hospital and their personnel.

A cluster indeed. Really sad for the patient and her family. I have a special place in my heart for Downs people, worked at a place in LA that trained them to do their best in the world. The kids were so sweet. Special Olympics is one of the few charities I support.

Family will probably win their suit, but that won’t replace young Grace. May she Rest in Peace.

Alarms can lowered in rooms and only heard at nursing station. Dr can not do a DNR without written permission from a family member.

Something very vile happened to doctors during covid- They literally went from “Do no harm” to “Obey whatever they are told by the government” which resulted in 10’s of 1000’s of unnecessary deaths- Doctors came out spouting KNOWN misinformation- and medical journals did as well- Its a pretty friggin sad state of affairs!

Maybe I missed it. but why was the young woman in the hospital in the first place? There are many conditions that result in the shut down or wasting away of body organs. Perhaps this is what prompted the doctor to be so bold as to label her a DNR.

I would hate to have been one of the nurses who had to tell the family to their faces that; “No ma’am, we will not be using our critical care equipment to revive your daughter. Doctors orders.”

Well where I've worked...in Healthcare. A Doc cannot do that....

Now I believe it used to be...that two Doc's could make the patient a DNR. But not anymore.....

I've been in too many codes...where it was hopeless. I've seen broken ribs doing compressions......I've seen too much.

The role of Jessica has to be better defined. Was she truly her advocate? and what were the terms of that role. Grace was 19...was the advocacy in effect??
