I need suggestions for a high calorie, high protein diet

Just saw a dietician today who gave me a packet of suggestions

What hell is pea protein?

Surprisingly the Six Star at Wal Mart is my go to. It already has creatine in it as well.

Be very careful with vegetable based protein powders. They are full of fillers and emulsifiers. I used my wife’s pea protein for a week and had terrible cramping and diarrhea. Egg protein has the best overall dietary profile but it’s hard to find and expensive. Go with whey to start. If you tolerate it, go to whey isolate. It’s better overall and you can use less.

I workout every week and have been on this for several years.
First, I avoid any animal (whey) protein supplements, I stay with veggie protein.
Cancer cells feed on animal protein for growth.
The older I get, the less I want to make it easier for any potentially malfunctioning cells feed on animal protein.
So, I recommend what I take... MRM Veggie Elite (Chocolate) Protein Powder.
Best prices are in AllstarHealth.com

Thank you

Weird being “chunky” all my life, but dropping from as high as 240 to now 120 is sapping me

Be careful of excessive protein powder...not good for kidney stones trust me. Can somewhat mitigate with LOTS of water.

Pea protein is grounded up pea, basically.

Please don’t just take my word for it. Take what you read here from everyone and use it to form your own opinion after you have engaged in some personal research with the information you have here. My best.

Try bovine colostrum. It’s normally in capsule or powder form. Available in a variety of retail and on-line stores.

My son was using whey protein and ended up with kidney stones. They are a known side effect of powdered whey.

Thank you!

I’m just wondering what all options are out there that people have had experience with

Dietician/nutritionist referral was worth seeking out but I have to relearn how to eat

Stroke cost me my taste buds so it’s hard to find anything good

I assume your dietician wants you to have more muscle.

Egg whites, whey protein, and meats are complete proteins. To get complete protein with a veggie protein, they need to cross veggies in it, or supplement it with standalone amino acids. There are practically no complete muscle proteins in a single vegetable source.

May I ask what caused you to lose so much weight and now makes it hard to gain some back? A moderate protein diet with health fats and veggies should normalize you.

Actually, it can be ground up chickpea and other legumes, common to India, even.

You’re right. It’s a legume based protein powder.
It has peas, though.
