Not exactly. Yes, the dems and left, of course, don’t like DeSantis. The Republican swamp dwellers are another story...just ask Paul Ryan and everyone over at FOX, including Gasparino. I’m sure McConnell, Romney, et al, want DeSantis.
There are three parties now, for all intents and purposes. Radical Dems, Establishment Republicans, and MAGA.
So Gasperino likes DeSantis for 2024. I like him too, but presidents aren’t decided by self-important media pundits bloviating about who would make a better POTUS.
In 2015, before I took Trump seriously, I went through a series of favorites. I liked Rand Paul, I liked Ben Carson, I liked Huckabee’s “fair tax” plan.
But then something happened: Donald Trump kept winning primaries and then debates - and then attracting huge crowds at rallies. Most importantly - he dared to call out the corruption in the fake news media and everywhere else even though it made him public enemy number one.
I’d never seen that - a politician seeking the highest office yet willing to make mortal enemies of all those in power. That’s what we sorely needed - so I watched in awe as he proceeded to win with that strategy.
Then, miracle of miracles - he kept his promises once in office!
I’m not saying Ron DeSantis can’t do the same thing. Maybe he can. Maybe he will. Maybe he will start racking up primary wins like Trump. If so, I’ll watch in awe just like I did with Trump.
But the fact is, there is a brutal obstacle course in store for any Republican who wants to be POTUS - and only one man who has proven twice he can survive it - Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, DeSantis has not even said he’s interested.

well, you’ve got a point, contrary to popular opinion on FR, i’ll grant you, but the GOPe started a hostile takeover of Trump before the ink was dry on 2016. imo, Trump decided early on that he was smarter than the GOPe and that he was going to take over the Establishment for himself.

I don’t see any proof in that article of Disney promising to donate anything to DeSantis. Trump is who Disney donates to, and was his top 5 donor in both 2016 and 2020.
