well, you’ve got a point, contrary to popular opinion on FR, i’ll grant you, but the GOPe started a hostile takeover of Trump before the ink was dry on 2016. imo, Trump decided early on that he was smarter than the GOPe and that he was going to take over the Establishment for himself.
so there’s a weird synergy as neither wing has completely consummated their desire for the other.
