Weeks. Not days. Woman who picked up had an unpronounceable first name. It went downhill from there. Am I the only white American experiencing this kind of dissonance, with gargantuan demand and scarce supply? How many of your MD's patients are now illegal aliens and their extended families, armed with free govt health care benefits which the good docs just can't seem to get enough of?
Yep

Gubmint Healthcare. Pharmacy services are going down the same path as we speak. Worse than awful. Expensive beyond outrageous.
I made an appointment 2 weeks ago with a vascular doctor. The appointment is for March 23.
2010 I went to the hospital with a kidney infection after being run over by a drunk driver. They had great service.
2022 went to the same hospital. After 6-7 hours they put me in a room with no bathroom, no food, no medicine, just a TV. After about 11 hours I unhooked myself from the machines, they made all sorts of bleeps, got dressed and walked out.
I told the nurses I was leaving and they said “bye”.
A week later a man they placed in the hall on a stretcher passed away and lay there dead for several hours when someone finally noticed.
Yes, it’s gotten much worse. You’d be better off being eaten by an alligator than going to die in a hospital.
I tried calling USMed twice today, leaving messages on both occasions. No response yet. I next sent them an email in reply to the one they sent me yesterday, about the new Endocrinologist refusing to sign a script for the supplies. I told them I would prefer sending the unopened supplies (lancets and strips) back to them, as I will not pay full price, and will simply wait until I can see my new family doctor in March.
My plan is to ask the new family doctor to cover me for my thyroid and diabetic meds and supplies, so I can tell the new Endocrinologist to take a hike. All my old Endocrinologist/Family Doctor did was send me for blood work every six months, check my thyroid physically when I saw him, and wrote the scripts for all my medications. If he could do that. I see no reason why my new family doctor can't do the same thing.
But, hey, it will be free!
you’re exactly correct. Both big pharmacy chains near me announced cuts in pharmacy hours due to not having enough staff.
Thus far the two large grocery store chains with pharmacies haven’t been impacted -— yet.
Same here with the dentist...even for a cleaning. I had to cancel my cleaning appointment with my dentist's office last May. I had to wait another six months (November), before they could fit me in.
They tell me I have to ask my doctor to "write a prescription for something else".
Back in June, I had already seen my doctor once about feeling crappy. He sent me for bloodwork that day, and the morning after, I ended up in the emergency room because I was suffering from adverse reactions to medication changes he had made two weeks earlier. It cost me $100 co-pay for that visit. I have original Medicare and The Empire Plan (as a retired NY State employee). Had they admitted me I think the co-pay would have been waived, but my condition didn't warrant it. It took me between 6-8 more weeks to get back to normal, once I'd stopped taking the new meds.
Yes I got called for an appointment in December and it was at end of Jan, my next appointment after getting labs done is for March 8th.
I cannot speak to Walgreens and what they do/don’t carry. All I know is anything I’ve needed, the CVS near me (who my insurance “partners with”) gets anything I need.
Have you tried going to a different Walgreens or calling your insurance provider about this and seeing if there are alternate paths such as mail delivery for your meds?
On the phone with CIGNA today. All their systems are down today and they say they’ll call me back.
Me aptoo. I also hear daily how the vax kneelers think every unvaxxed person should be denied all care. These are the people at your grandmas hospital bed providing care.. up to leadership at all levels.
But national healthcare is so bad.
I live in Upstate NY.
We lost a number of healthcare professionals after the vaxx mandate.
They’ve been replaced with what I suspect are H1bs.
Those are the only docs new patients can get an appointment with now.
As for the couple of things hanging fire healthwise, I’ll wait.
I solved the problem by not going for wellcare visits.
Not just Obamacare.
The Porkulus that GWB signed had the EMR/EHR regs in it that drove out most of the remaining independent docs.
And Deep State is using those EMRs/EHRs to keep an eye on Americans.
GWB has much to answer for as well.
That’s what we have now.
A de facto NHS.
Clap for carers!
On a slightly different note, I applied for medicare this month via the SS website. I called the local SS office at the end of Dec seeing if I could make an in person visit to apply. I was told it would take 2 months to get an appointment. I applied online and my application got kicked out because I needed to bring a birth certificate document to a SS office. I showed up without notice and was in and out of the office in about 20 minutes. The office had about a dozen customers stalls, but only 2 were manned when the office opened up..
