Turner, 28, and her boyfriend, 30-year-old Jon Logan Kennison, were arrested in 2019 after authorities found Burchard's body stuffed in the trunk of an abandoned car on State Route 147 near Lake Mead outside Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 7, 2019.
Police say Burchard, 71, traveled from California to Las Vegas, where Turner was located at the time, to end their two-year relationship in which he apparently gave her an allowance to fund her lifestyle totaling an estimated $300,000...
She and Kennison are accused of beating Burchard with a baseball bat and hiding his body in the trunk of Turner's Mercedes.

Article isn’t clear. Was Burchard her psychiatrist or just a psychiatrist?
What is meant by their two year relationship? Was it professional or ? Says, “in which he apparently gave her an allowance to fund her lifestyle totaling an estimated $300,000”.
That’s a lot of money for a doctor, who should not get so involved with a patient to be giving, or any amount as a shrink.
Or was it more?
Let’s face it Turner’s bf Kennison is the one who did the job with the baseball bat, but why?

You are right it is ambiguous but the best guess is that she started out as his patient, he became romantically involved with her and “treatment” went by the wayside. She got him to pay her all kinds of money and provided sex in return until she got tired of the old man, and found a lover her own age. But he couldn’t let go, hung on, became an albatross, as only a rejected lover who refuses to let go can be; she grew to despise him so together with her cronies she decided to dump him— permanently. Remember this woman was a Playboy model so she was used to the seamy underbelly of life.
