Oregon gas prices jump nearly 40 cents in a week

Prices could continue to rise, expert says..

The average price of gas in Oregon is up to $5 per gallon again after prices spiked by nearly 40 cents in the last week.

After a summer of declining prices, AAA reports that statewide prices jumped from $4.64 per gallon to $5 per gallon in the last seven days. Prices are also up 20.3 cents per gallon in the Portland-Vancouver area this week, with an average price of $4.98 per gallon, GasBuddy.com petroleum analyst Patrick De Haan noted.

...

gas prices shooting up in several regions amidst myriad refinery issues from the West Coast to the Great Lakes and in-between,” De Haan said. “I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a wider gamut of price behaviors coast to coast in my career.”

...

De Haan said that the spike is caused by a number of national issues, including refinery disruptions in the Western U.S. and Hurricane Ian in the Southeast.

“A slew of unexpected refinery disruptions, including fires and routine maintenance, have seemingly all happened in a short span of time, causing wholesale gas prices to spike in areas of the West Coast, Great Lakes and Plains states – and some of those areas could see prices spike another 25 to 75 cents per gallon, or more, until issues are worked out,” De Haan said. “In addition, as Tropical Storm Ian nears the U.S. coast, some refiners could see limited disruption.”

The average price of gas in Portland is currently 8.4 cents per gallon higher than it was a month ago, and $1.23 per gallon more than it was a year ago. According to GasBuddy, the cheapest station in Portland on Sept. 26 was $4.29 per gallon. The most expensive station was $5.49 per gallon.

No surprise at all.
Biden and his Puppet Masters hoped draining the reserve would drop prices long enough to get past Nov.
Nov is ALL they care about right now.

Several stations here raised their prices 26 cents between Sunday and Monday. Fortunately they aren’t as high as in Oregon.

Must be some disruption of supply as refineries change over to winter blends.

Sinopec, U.S. Strategic Oil Reserves, and Hunter Biden: Connecting the Dots.. Unipec is the trading arm of Chinese state-run energy giant Sinopec.. Hunter was associated with a company called BHR Partners, which held a stake in Sinopec..

There are two aspects to the U.S. selling oil to Sinopec.

First, many are questioning selling the strategic oil reserves to China since the oil was meant to ease supplies for U.S. refineries..

The other side of the controversy is related to Hunter’s connection with Sinopec.

FJB isn’t done draining every last drop out of the SPR. Just wait until all that “free” oil dries up. Yes, I know the amount is negligible, but the psychological effect on the oil market will be huge.

And we’ll be left with no national reserves.

Didn’t crude drop?

Yes, but when refineries are not able to refine there is less gasoline and prices go up.

Yeah...”change over to winter blends.” The long-standing all-purpose excuse.

Prices “could continue” to rise? There is no “could” to that very high probability. They WILL rise. Perhaps even more sharply than anyone now imagines.

To the further diminishment of Democrat Socialists being able to hold on, and to the benefit of every prospective Republican office seeker out there.

They are jumping the gun. Gas prices were not scheduled to skyrocket again until after the November elections.
