You'll shoot your eye out at this news.

The A Christmas Story sequel has a release date of Nov. 17, according to HBO Max. The follow-up, called A Christmas Story Christmas will star Ralphie (Peter Billingsly) once again, who is "all grown up" and "must deal with Christmas and all that comes with it, this time as a dad," according to the streamer. The new film will take place in the 1970s, according to Variety, with adult Ralphie bringing his family to his childhood home for the holiday.

"With the same attention-to-real-life tone of the first," the film's logline reads, "Ralphie reconnects with childhood friends, reconciles the passing of his Old Man and sows the seeds for the origins of the beloved holiday classic."

They can’t leave good old things alone because they have no new ideas at all.

I love this movie and watch it several times over the Christmas holiday.

Perhaps Ralphie will get his boy a cooler firearm.

It is a great sentimental movie to me as I grew up in the same decade. That is when America could be spelled with a capital "A" and things were simple then.

I believed in Santa Clause then and still hope he exists now.

Knowing hollyweird, Ralphie will probably announce that he’s “transgender” and is now his kid’s mom, and that his daughter is now his son, and his son is now his daughter. Of course, Ralphie will be married to a black lesbian.

Yeah. Whatever.

Great news for a movie that requires NO sequel. Especially if you are familiar with the writings and musings of Jean Shepherd.

There have already been at least two attempts at a sequel:

1994’s “My Summer Story”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Summer_Story

2012’s “A Christmas Story 2”:

Both stunk. Not holding out much hope for this despite them casting “Messy Marvin” after all of these years.

Peter Billingsly seems to be a good guy so keep an open mind.

Done right, in the manner Top Gun-Maverick seems to have been, yeah I will spend a few of the BidenBucks I have left to see it.
Another movie, I will be watching the reviews on Free Republic for.

You mean the 3rd sequel. My Summer Story was released in 1994 and is pretty good. A Christmas Story 2 was released in 2012 and is crap.

2022 version: Ralphie’s kid wants an AR-15. The catch phrase is, “No kid, you’ll blow your f****king head off.”

There was already a sequel,My Summer Story, released in 1994. Different cast but same characters. Not nearly as good.

The house where Ralphie lived is now a museum. It’s near Cleveland. It’s actually pretty cool.

There has already been sequels which died at the box office and or ratings on tv or went straight to video.
You rarely catch lightning in a bottle twice.

A Christmas Story (1983) had 2 sequels & 4 prequels!

As little Ralphie he is the picture of my brother as a kid. My mother couldn’t get over it and I think that’s the main reason she loves the movie.
