Breakthrough vaccine could help cure pancreatic cancer: Patients remain cancer-free 18 months later

A new vaccine developed using the same technology as the BioNTech-Pfizer Covid jab has raised hopes of a cure for pancreatic cancer.

In early trial results of the jab - which uses mRNA theory and is designed to prevent tumours from returning after surgery - half of the patients given a vaccine remained cancer free 18 months later.

The inoculation, developed by scientists working with pharmaceutical firm BioNTech and US company Genentech, has raised hopes of finally finding a cure for the deadliest common cancer which claims the lives of 90 per cent of patients within two years of diagnosis.

The results of the groundbreaking trial, led by Dr Vinod Balachandran at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York, were presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology conference in Chicago.

They showed personalised vaccines could train the immune system to kill cells associated with pancreatic cancer.

A similar trial is also currently underway for bowel cancer – and Moderna, another Covid vaccine manufacturer, is also developing mNRA treatments for cancer and autoimmune conditions.

Some doctors say cancer rates have exploded due to the covid jabs. So will these new jabs fix the cancer that the old jabs caused?

Good news - no cancer, bad news, you’re dead because of clots caused by mRNA.

I said it before.. the real benefit of mRNA technology isn’t for Covid which will pass, but for cancer therapy down the road. mRNA opens up all kinds of possibilities.

mRNA doesn’t cause clots. The spike protein causes clots (in a small minority). mRNA is just a tool for creating proteins. If you want to blame someone for the clots blame the Chinese who created the spike protein.

I’m betting no... except on a temporary basis.

Now, if you were going to die in 2 years and decided to get the new jab to forestall that, you might consider it a valid trade off.

The chance of a clot means very little if the result is curing pancreatic cancer. And it seems to be a treatment not a vaccine.

Perhaps it is best to know what mRNA even is before commenting...you obviously don't.

Looks like money for medical research will be pushed more and more into mRNA treatments.

That's the way Big Government wants it and Big Pharma will oblige.

“personalized” ALWAYS means MONSTROUSLY expensive, generally in the hundreds of thousands per treatment ...

Why not blame the organization that funded and gave the Chinese the technology to create the spike proteins?

I hate vaxxes, but if I am in that bad a condition they can jab me to their hearts content.

They can only kill me with bad medicine once!

Constitutionally, intellectual property is supposed to be “to promote the progress of science and useful arts” and only be “for limited times.” (See Article I, Section 8, Clause 8.)

Some technologies are existential threats to humanity and should have NO protection as intellectual property.

Genetic manipulation is one of those things I wish had it’s profit center removed. It may serve a purpose in limited cases, but its advancement does not need to be artificially accelerated by granting patents to DNA sequences.

I feel similarly about artificial intelligence. Intellectual property encourages reinvesting profits in the underlying product which accelerates the progress of research and development, etc. This process results in the improvement in quality of life for everyone (generally speaking). But some technologies need to have their growth slowed rather than accelerated so we, as a civilization, can evaluate their impact.

Genetic manipulation and artificial intelligence are bigger threats to humanity than even nuclear weapon proliferation, in my opinion.

That a good point. I’m not a fan of shots in general but I admit I pestered my doctor for years to give me the shingles vaccine and he finally did in January. I’ve seen too many miserable people with in.
