PHILADELPHIA — Kathy Barnette has been outspent 358-to-1 on TV in Pennsylvania’s GOP primary for the Senate. She hasn’t run for statewide office before. She doesn’t have former President Donald Trump’s endorsement.
But the ultra-MAGA commentator is surging in the polls anyway in the final weeks of one of the most expensive and closely watched races in the country.
Barnette’s unlikely — and, to some, unbelievable — rise has turned heads in political circles across the state because it defies political logic. Just two years ago, she lost a House bid in the Philadelphia suburbs by a wide margin. This time around, her opponents Mehmet Oz and David McCormick have spent $12.4 million and $11.4 million on television commercials, respectively, according to the ad-tracking firm AdImpact. Other candidates and outside groups have bankrolled $25 million more in spots. Oz has also won a highly sought-after nod from Trump.

Big money spent on a campaign means somebody owns them. There are exceptions, Trump being one, but not many.

I am voting for her but suspecting all the attention the drive-bys are giving her is because the drive-bys want to brag that Trump lost after the election.
Let’s hope ultra-MAGA candidates win across the board! That’s the best hope for saving the USA and the American People from destruction.
I could be wrong, but I believe this says that nobody listens to those stupid-azz TV ads anymore, that the MSM, as well as others, are no longer a credible source for information (we already knew that) and are completely out of touch with the People...and the People are fed up and had enough of the trickery and BS.
As long as she holds true to conservative principles and votes accordingly rock solid then give her a go.

I read a headline the other day that said that Kathy Barnett wanted to make a statue of Obama a few years back. Is this true do you think or a drive-by? I don’t live in Pennsylvania so I’m not that up on her.

Oz and McCormick are terrible.... Don’t need more Bush Era Rinos or Used Car salesman fakers in the Senate.
Barnette winning this primary is as big a middle finger to the GOPe in the state of PA as Trump was to the national party...
Oz and McCormick are so week that in spite of spending combined something like 50 or 60 Million between their direct spending and surrogates on ads, she is right there with them after really just 2 debate appearances and less than $150k spent on TV advertising. That’s all the proof anyone should need to know about how bad these two are, even among GOP voters they haver no measurable support.. 20% or so each a week from the election.
Fetterman will eat them for breakfast and crap them out by lunch... Only chance GOP has to win with either of them as the nominee is just whether the climate is such that a ham sandwich would win as long as it has an R... which may be the case this fall, but otherwise, neither one will do well.. they both are little more than a pro forma republican candidate in this race, AT BEST.
Barnette certainly is no shoe in, but the criticisms of her being untested etc, well that’s true of Oz and McCormick too... She won’t likely get anything but token support from the party if she is the nominee, so to win she’ll have to get the grass roots behind her, but it sure looks like she’s managed to get the beginning of that kind of rally behind her.
I hope she can pull off the upset next tuesday, the GOP of Pa needs to realize we are done with their pathetic candidates... I won’t hold my nose and pull the leaver to put another globalist/GOPe/RINO in the Senate... Did that enough with Specter, Santorum and Toomey, won’t do it any longer.
In the last 24 hours the smears against her have been in full swing... which means that the polls showing her really having a shot must be legit and that the McCormick and Oz campaigns have internals showing her support is indeed a threat.
Like it or not Obama was the first black president, why would any black person advocating a statue for him be controversial? If true... even the smears I haven’t seen anything where she condoned or lauded his policies.
The other one going around is some posts she made back in the 2015 primary season when she bashed Trump and supported walker. If Bashing Trump in September 2015 is a problem the at least 50-75% of Free Republic have a problem.
I expect we’ll see a lot more mud in the coming days.. won’t change my vote, I don’t know for certain how Barnette will govern if elected, but I’m pretty sure how Oz or McCormick will, I’ve seen their types my entire life... no problem giving her a shot.
If she does pull of the upset Tuesday, that’s as big a middle finger to the PA GOP establishment as Trump was to the national GOP establishment... Don’t kid yourself, this is a big deal.. she pulls it off, its political earthquake.
