The surveillance video shows three men, wearing masks, hoodies and gloves smashing a glass door, then walking in and ransacking Walter Dillon’s high-end sneaker store.
The thieves can be seen methodically stuffing footwear into plastic bags, then running out and driving away.
Dillon says it was over in just minutes.
“That’s the car they was in, right there,” Dillon exclaims, pointing to a video screen. “I imagine they broke a glass, they broke a window, gained entry that way and took shoes and whatnot.”
Dillon showed the video to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS during a visit to his now-closed KKG Kickz store in Little Canada.
He says he’s still shaken by the overnight burglary on Feb. 23.
“I don’t even believe what’s on the TV screen when I see it. It’s devastating,” Dillon said. “It’s so awful to see something that I worked for, worked really hard for, dreamed about, executed — to see it all blow away like that is heartbreaking.”
Days later, the front door is covered with plywood.

And then they will complain about “food deserts”. 🙄
What is it with a certain demographic and their footwear?

Expensive sneakers are seen as a sign of "success" in "da-hood". If you have expensive stuff (sneakers, jewelry, cars) you are seen as "successful" even if you are in debt to acquire those items and you own no assets of any real value. All about the appearance of 'perceived' wealth.
that store was next door. went out of business. no sales.

I never bought into the whole “appearance of wealth” thing we do in the USA. I live in an area where you basically can’t tell by outward appearance who has money and who doesn’t.
Reparations.
Nobody claimed that these youts were geniuses.
Surprised he’s been in business this long.
