Maybe they “yielded” their eggs as they were falling out of the trees. 😉

‘That would mean he’s breeding iguanas.”

I take you were not raised on a farm.

Wrong, does NOT mean breeding ...

From wildlife management site —

‘’To the conservation “manager”, “harvesting” or “wildlife management” means to kill an animal so as to control a population or an ecosystem. “Management” or “harvesting” are politically correct words that allow the speaker to avoid using the word “kill” when he or she is talking about culling a group of animals or birds.’’

harvested; harvesting; harvests. Definition of harvest (Entry 2 of 2) transitive verb. 1a : to gather in (a crop) : reap harvesting corn. b : to gather, catch, hunt, or kill (salmon, oysters, deer, etc.)

Now shut up and go back to school.......

IIRC, the iguana population is out of control.....the deep freeze could be a great chance to stop ‘em.

THEY EAT PEOPLE !!!!

....well probably not people, but birds, etc. causing some sort of eco imbalance.

Last time it was this cold was in 2010 - and I recall going out to walk the dogs on a nearby golf course and near each large tree were the cored-out skins of multiple iguanas. They go into a coma like state when their temperature drops too far and they fall out of the trees and are eaten by predators. After that cold winter in 2010 it took several years for the iguana population to rebound.

Merrimack Webster is the only dictionary that includes population control.

“Wrong, does NOT mean breeding”

I didn’t say it meant breeding.

Your definition is from a government site.

A misuse of the term as euphemism or jargon.

See the inclusion of literally as not meaning literally being included in dictionaries.

Supposedly we will be seeing iguanas falling from the trees.

Some people say it tastes like chicken. It's why they're called "chicken of the trees".

They’re herbivores. But they can play hell with landscaping and agriculture. They also dig around the many bridges in S Florida and cause damage.
